UK White Dwarf #349

Managed to get hold of the January issue of the UK White Dwarf #349. Not sure if I got it early or whether GW released it early as the last Friday of the month is Boxing Day!

It’s a very Orky issue, with lots of Orks in it, and Orky stuff.

Very nice battle report involving lots of Orks and lots of BIG Ork stuff such as submersibles and Pulsa Rokkits.

Of course lots on the new Battlewagon.

If you are an Ork player, well worth getting a copy.

Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor Undercoated

Having finished building my Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor and added lots of symbology I gave the model a black undercoat.

I used Citadel’s Chaos Black spray.

I also undercoated the dozer blade as well.

The next stage will be to give the model a base coat.

Epic Imperial Guard BaneBlades

These wonderful Epic BaneBlades are from Simon’s collection.

Epic Imperial Guard BaneBlade

We often forget how well sculptured these models are (or should that be were).

Epic Imperial Guard BaneBlade

With today’s plastic 40K scale BaneBlade these huge monstrous war machines can now grace the table for Warhammer 40K. Next year we’ll see the plastic Shadowsword and Ork Stompa and the gaming tables will never be the same again.

Ork Looted Rhino Gunner

I am quite pleased with my Looted Ork Rhino  but still have a fair bit to do.

One of the things it does need is some weaponry, this was an attempt to add an Ork Gunner with Big Shoota.

Alas it doesn’t work for me. It looks like the Ork’s firing his Shoota at aircraft rather than at enemy Imperial Guard. I will be revisiting the Gunner at a later date.

Forge World Ork Gunwagon

My Forge World Ork Gunwagon full of Orks advancing through the ash wastes.

Gunwagon with Kannon

If you have been following my workbench feature on my Forge World Ork Gunwagon, you will know that it is nearly finished. Though not quite finished, it’s finished enough for me to use in a game (or two). Having read the Forge World Masterclass Volume One book I am re-looking at the model and will see if there are things I can add to the model. It performs quite well, and just ensure you have a few Meks around to fix it when it gets shot to pieces.

Plastic Shadowsword (for real)

A few weeks ago back in October I said that Games Workshop would release a plastic Shadowsword. There was some scepticism on places such as Warseer, however I was happy that I had a good source.

Well in the new German White Dwarf they have a picture of the new plastic Shadowsword.

Plastic Shadowsword (for real)

The article also says

Even though we associate the Apocalypse with the end of all things, for Warhammer 40.000 that is far from the truth – March will see plenty of new Apocalypse releases, among them a brand new super heavy tank. That is correct, the Shadowsword shown above is not a Forgeworld model, but a new plastic kit! And the best thing about it: this is only one out of six superheavy variants, that you can build with parts from the box!

There we go, so as the same source mentioned a plastic Stompa, then I know we’re going to see that too.

Dark Angelish Grey Knights

For my (very slow) grey Knights army I am using a variety of Space Marine models for the core troops. These include Space Marine Veterans and Dark Angels.

Having got a Dark Angels box set, I made them up and gave the models a black undercoat.

So they are not like the metal Grey Knights, but Grey Knights use a variety of old equipment, now and again I suspect they may use slightly newer kit hence being able to use the Dark Angels sprues.

See the full workbench feature.

What’s it going be?

Forgeworld have their own version of an Advent Calendar, certainly won’t have twenty four windows and it ain’t going be that festive!

 Forgeworld Teaser

Although we have called a temporary pause on new releases while we get everybody`s orders to them, we’re not resting on our laurels and we have a number of exciting new models on the way. By way of a teaser, over the next few updates we will be revealing a part of one of our new models to wet your appetite for the New Year. If you collect and assemble these teaser shots, you be able to see the whole thing!

Well the Inquisitor symbols makes me assume it’s an Inquisitor in Terminator Armour. Wonder what the whole model will look like?
