Hades Breaching Drill

When you have a fortified position which you absolutely, resolutely need to get through, then choose the Hades Breaching Drill.

It does what it says on the tin!

This is the excellent new Death Korps of Krieg Hades Breaching Drill.

Hades Breaching Drill

Just the thing to take out that fortified Ork stronghold that I have (not) been building.

Hades Breaching Drill

Really nice model, nice to see something different. Now if we could see more innovative Ork stuff and slightly less Imperial Guard I think I would be happier!

Thanks to BoLS for heads up.

The Mole Mortar is back!

The infamous Mole Mortar is back!

At the Warhammer 40K 5th Edition bash at Warhammer World yesterday (12th June) Forge World had on display a sneek peek of a Krieg Engineer team with Mole Launcher; which has to be a Mole Mortar by any other name!

The Mole Mortar is back!

Nice model and a must for anyone using Death Korps of Krieg.

Thanks to BoLS.

Epic Imperial Guard Leman Russ Main Battle Tank

Epic Imperial Guard Leman Russ Main Battle Tank

This model is from the Epic 40000 era and is very well detailed.

I like the model for the amount of additions such as the gun sleeve, crew equipment and camo netting. Most of the Epic 40000 models had such additions. The current Epic Armageddon models are much “cleaner” and have virtually no extra “stuff” on them, which in my opinion is a pity.

I was quite pleased with the paint job on this model, though due to the ink wash it is a bit glossy for my liking.

Ork Killa Kan

This is the third of my trio of Ork Killa Kans.

Originally I had planned to have a colour body, so the main body of the Killa Kan had a white undercoat as seen in the workbench feature.

Well as I started to paint it I knew that it wasn’t going to work and it wouldn’t look right. Maybe okay if it was a single Killa Kan, but in my squadron of three it was going to look odd. So I stopped painting the colour, let it dry and then went over the area with Chaos Black.

I then drybrushed the (new) black parts, first with Tin Bitz and then lightly with Boltgun Metal. I also painted the rockets with the red Foundation Paint.

See the full workbench feature on the Killa Kan.

Who do you think you are kidding…

I have been looking at Flames of War for a while now, as back in the late 1990s I bought a lot of 15mm (1/100th) World War Two tanks and miniatures; I even painted some!

On the Flames of War website they have a very nice article on building a Dad’s Army unit for Flames of War.

The article not only has pictures of the nicely painted miniatures, it also has pictures of how the different miniatures were modelled.

I have always liked the idea of gaming Operation Sealion and this article is quite inspiring.
