Witchhunter Dialogus – Inquisitorial Henchmen

I am adding some Henchmen to my Inquistorial force. I am not quite sure what a Dialogus is and what they do for the Witch Hunter Inquisitor, but it is an interesting model nonetheless.

Having flocked the base with Games Workshop modelling sand, the model was given a white undercoat.

Space Marines on sale at UK GamesDay

Space Marine Drop Pod
According to the Games Workshop website, a variety of Space Marines stuff will be on sale at the UK GamesDay on the 14th September including the new Drop Pod.

Dropping from orbit, the brand new pre-release Space Marines will be in extremely limited supply. That said, we’ll be taking 2000 brand new plastic Drop Pods – an amazing 89-piece plastic kit – not to mention the all-new Thunderfire Cannon and the all-important Codex: Space Marines.

We’ll also be taking supplies of the new Sternguard and Vanguard Veterans, the mighty all-plastic Land Raider Redeemer / Crusader, as well as the many new Special Characters including Captain Sicarius of the Ultramarines and the Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists, Pedro Kantor.

Hmm tempted.

Imperial Guard Heavy Tanks

Here are a pair of Imperial Guard Heavy Tanks from Simon’s collection.

These conversions were made, probably about ten years ago, so way before the Death Korps of Krieg models found their way into Epic Armageddon and Forge World.

I am pretty sure that these are Hydra hulls, as for the turret, well if you look at this picture of one of my Ork tanks from the same era, I think you will be able to guess!

From a fluff perspective, it can be easily imagined that an Ork army overtook an Imperial Guard tank factory and utilised many of the components including the turrets on their own tanks and battlewagons.

If I remember correctly, from Simon’s perspective I think it was because he had all the Ork vehicles from the Epic 40000 boxed set that he decided to use the Ork turrets.

GW Prices going to rise

Alas the economic woes affecting the world economy have not left Games Workshop alone and September 29th sees a range of price increases across the GW range with the notable exception of their plastic kits.

Tabletop Gaming News has the inside story.

On Monday August 25th a message informing end hobbyists will be placed on all of our websites.

Prices will change September 29th.

A message will appear in our October White Dwarf.

The price increase will affect part of our paint and hobby ranges, as well as a large portion of our metal models and printed materials.

Even with the pressure of rising costs we are adamant that we will not at this time raise prices on any plastic model kits. Providing high quality, great value kits is fundamental to our corporate strategy and will continue to produce and distribute them at the current prices for as long as we are able.

£18 for the Drop Pod!

Later this year we shall see a new Space Marine Codex and with the codex comes a bundle of new Space Marine miniatures out on the 4th of October.

One of the new kits will be a plastic Space Marine Drop Pod and I was pleasantly surprised to find it will only be £18 ($30).

This is based on the Forge World resin model which costs a massive £45!

You can get it “early” by buying the Space Marine Spearhead boxed set which comes out on the 20th September. I suspect they may have a few at GamesDay 2008 in Birmingham the week before.

World War One Ruined Village

One of the games I enjoyed a lot at GamesDay 2007 was Aly Morrison and Dave Andrews’ excellent World War One demonstration game.

There was some fantastic scenery such as this ruined village.

Excellent stuff.

You can see many more pictures of the game on my website.
