Another one of my converted Epic Ork Battlefortress.
I have replaced many of the supplied weaponry with different weapons. They include flak gunz from Flak Wagonz, Pulsa Rokkits and Buggy Gunnerz.

This very nicely done Ork Bommer was on display in the Gaming Club Network display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

I do like this model and wouldn’t mind getting one, though the amount of time it has taken me to model and paint my Ork Fighter makes me think that if I did get one, it will probably be 2015 before it ever flew over the gaming table!
Also Forge World are going to make 28mm versions of their Heavy Ork Bommerz which they recently produced for aeronautica imperialis and that might be even more fun to make and paint.
If you have looked at my Grey Knights pages you will realise that I am attempting to paint a Grey Knights force which goes beyond the listings in the DaemonHunters Codex. What I am trying to do is to create a Grey Knights force (using the Space Marine Codex) and then using a DaemonHunters force as allies.
One model I got last Christmas was a Forgeworld Razorback the one with the much bigger turret, which I much prefer over the plastic kit version that you get in the shops. As it is only £2 more now, I think the Forgeworld version is much better value for money.
Though you would get some spare weapon parts with the plastic version…
I constructed the main weaponry of the Razorback, the twin-linked Lascannons. This went together fine once I had enlarged the holes in the weapon mount turret.

I constructed the Rhino, I wasn’t going to detail or paint the inside, so I left that as was. I also left off the frontal plate and the doors.

It went together fine and I checked that the Lascannon turret fitted the turret ring.
Next stage will be to add the Grey Knights detailing and doors.

I have been putting my Mark IIb Land Raider together.
The track units went together very easily, adding the resin pieces was a little more complex.
The problem was that the resin pieces had shrunk slightly which meant the fit was not as good as the other plastic parts leaving some gaps between the resin parts and the plastic track units.
I did think about filling the gaps with green stuff, or using plasticard, however for the moment I am leaving as the gap is not that big.
At GamesDay 2007 in the Gaming Club Network display cabinets was this 28mm Ork Landa.

I do like the concept of the Ork Landa and really like the Epic model. It would be nice if Forge World produced an Ork Landa model, with the fact they already produce the huge Tau Manta it shouldn’t be an impossible model to make.
I have been thinking for some time about making my own Ork Landa for my Warhammer 40K Ork forces, but kind of never really got around to it.
So there I was looking at the Macharius with Vulcan Mega Bolter on the Forgeworld site, when I thought I would have a look at the rules for the Vulcan Mega Bolter (partly as Simon had mentioned that if he was going to get a Macharius he would get the one with the Vulcan Mega Bolter).

Imagine my surprise (and horror) when I looked at the stats.
Strength 6
Okay not so bad, but good enough to glance or penetrate Orky armour.
Range 60″
That’s a long way, basically the length of our average table we use for gaming, so no worries about not hitting anything on the table (unless there is something in the way).
AP 3
Well that means no saving throws for virtually everything I have.
Heavy 15
What!
Heavy 15
Really?
Fifteen dice for each shot.
I am not 100% sure but initially I thought the Vulcan Mega Bolter was twin-linked, but according to the PDF it isn’t.
Not that that makes a huge difference.
Hoping Simon will buy another Dreadnought instead.
I have been re-looking at my Killa Kans after reading this very interesting article on the Games Workshop US website.
Mine are currently looking like this:

This is how mine were painted.
The article gives some interesting ideas and concepts on painting Ork Killa Kans and Dreadnoughts.
