Though not really a fan of the Skaven, this model really does show how far Games Workshop have come in producing well detailed and complicated plastic models.
It does make you wonder what they could do if they decided to move into historical miniatures. They already have the rules, but I guess they don’t really want to go down that road (at this time).
Forge World have in their most recent newsletter given details on how you can pre-order the Eldar Phantom Titan.
Tall, elegant and devastating in battle, the Phantom Titan is the largest known Eldar Titan. It is swift and agile in comparison to the lumbering behemoths of the Legio Titanicus, and is armed with some of the deadliest examples of Eldar weaponry.
Each Phantom is the pinnacle of Eldar warcraft. Linked to a wraithbone core containing the living spirit of its previous pilots, the single crewman of each Phantom Titan, known as a Steersman, is an Exarch dedicated to this aspect of warfare. Locked in a trance-like state, the Steersman’s consciousness merges with the spirit-sentience of the Titan, enabling the mighty war machine to react and manoeuvre with astonishing speed.
The Phantom Titan, designed by Will Hayes and featuring interior detail sculpted by Simon Egan, is most commonly armed with at least one immense Phantom Pulsar, a long range and rapid-firing energy weapon far superior to anything sanctioned by the Adeptus Mechanicus.
The Phantom’s other primary weapon is often a Phantom D-Cannon. Much larger and more powerful than similar technology used by the Cobra or Warp Hunter, it tears a seething warp-rift in the fabric of reality to engulf and utterly destroy its foe. As well as these primary weapons, the Phantom is armed with shoulder-mounted anti-aircraft and anti-personnel missile launchers as well as an additional heavy weapon, usually a long-barrelled Star Cannon or Pulse Laser.
Adeptus Mechanicus logis-engines also record other primary weapons systems that have been encountered in the long history of conflict between the Imperium and the Eldar. Will Hayes will be turning his talented attention to these for future releases.

No I am not going to buy one, don’t do Eldar. But I am impressed with the quality of the model and the work that went into it.
The Tiger was feared so much by the Allies, that most German tanks were referred to as Tiger tanks.
Tiger I is the common name of a German heavy tank used in World War II, developed in 1942. The final official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. E, often shortened to Tiger. It was an answer to the unexpectedly formidable Soviet armour encountered in the initial months of Operation Barbarossa, particularly the T-34 and the KV-1. The Tiger I design gave the Wehrmacht its first tank mounting the 88 mm gun, which had previously demonstrated its effectiveness against both air and ground targets. During the course of the war, the Tiger I saw combat on all German battlefronts. It was usually deployed in independent tank battalions, which proved to be quite formidable..

I was quite surprised by how many parts were in the blister. This wasn’t going to be a quick model to put together, especially with no instructions!
The key was to find pictures of the finished model on the web and see if that helped.

The Ork Kil Krusha from Forge World has a somewhat complicated track arrangements, however it is simplified somewhat by using large pieces for the tracks rather than lots of individual links.
The suspension looks quite complicated, but thanks to the clear instructions it was quite easy to fit it all together.
The tracks unlike the Big Trakk are only in four pieces, two of which lie on the bottom under the wheels.
The tracks do need to be fixed more securely to the leading and trailing wheels.
It was clear that the driving wheel would need to be placed carefully to ensure a snug fit for the tracks.

Warhammer Fantasy High Elves.
I do like the GW High Elves, they are really nice miniatures and have a certain GW style that I quite like. However I don’t think I have the painting skills (or the time or the money) to get a force of High Elves. These beautiful models were on display at GamesDay 2007.
The top of the turret went together very easily, fitting the two weapons and the Ork commander.

Doctor Who returns to our screens on April 23rd.
Last minute problems meant that my plans to attend the Forge World Open Day fell apart, therefore like the rest of the gaming world I am reliant on other sites for news and pictures.
The Forge World Heavy Transport mentioned in a Forge World newsletter was not the Capitol Imperialis or Leviathan that was hoped for, but is basically an armoured Gorgon, a mobile pillbox.
Alas Warseer, a great source for pictures is currently “unsafe” and as a result is not available. Some of the Warseer pictures managed to get out though and you can see more on this site (in German).
Another release on show was this Forge World kit for the Dark Eldar.
I’ve always thought the Dark Eldar vehicles should have more sails.
Really nice.
Also on show were some nice new models from Warhammer Forge. Much of those we have already seen, but there was a big “bull” steed or monster, large Skaven rat monster, new Chaos Dwarfs and a Chaos Siege Giant.
