Imperial Guard Crassus Armoured Transport

Forge World have released more details and a pre-order date for their huge Imperial Armoured Transport, the Crassus.

The Crassus Armoured Transport is not a standard frontline Imperial Guard vehicle, but its armoured bulk and transport capacity make it extremely capable. Based upon the Macharius Heavy Tank chassis, the Crassus is powerful, reliable, and while ponderous, it can transport an entire infantry platoon of up to 31 Guardsmen, while its hull bristles with potent heavy weapons sponsons.

This immense armoured carrier is named after one of Lord Solar Macharius’ greatest generals, Borgen Crassus, who remained steadfastly loyal to the Imperium throughout the grim and bloody Macharian Heresy that followed the Lord Solar’s death.

The vehicle can be retrofitted with additional weapons to fulfil other battlefield roles as required, and thousands of these vast transports were drafted into the 6th Cadian Armoured’s ranks during the fighting on Betalis III.

The Crassus Armoured Transport is a massive full resin kit designed by Daren Parrwood, featuring a fully detailed interior, and it is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April. Forge World’s Book Design team have provided these experimental rules, taken from Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara, to allow any Imperial Guard army to field this lumbering behemoth.

Forge World Newsletter #245

Hi There,
We have even more fantastic Space Marine kits for you in this Newsletter, including variant armour sets and some fantastically detailed Chapter-specific Transfer sheets and Etched Brass sets. We also have an update about what we’ll be showing you at Games Day Baltimore on August 21st.

Thanks,
Ead Brown

Phobos Pattern Bolter Pack

The Phobos Pattern Bolter Pack is closely associated with Mk II ‘Crusade’ Armour and is perhaps the most venerable design of the sacred Bolter used by the Astartes. Both were hand-crafted by the Fabricators of Mars at the very birth of the Imperium, to ensure that every Marine had the finest wargear with which to reunite the scattered elements of Humanity.

Designed by Phil Stutcinskas and Will Hayes, the Phobos Pattern Bolter pack contains 10 finely detailed, resin weapons, with optional combat blade attachments, and can be pre-ordered here for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd. Like the other Forge World Weapon Sets currently available to pre-order, the Phobos pattern Bolters can be combined with the full range of plastic Games Workshop and resin Forge World Space Marine sets.

Space Marine Infantry Upgrade Sets Available to Pre-Order Now:

We have even more Space Marine armour variants available for you to pre-order this week. Designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas, all of these detailed resin kits contain enough parts to build 5 Space Marines – each set includes two different poses of legs, as well as separate torsos, helmets, backpacks, shoulder pads and arms.

MkII ‘Crusade’ Armour Set

The first of our Space Marine armour sets is this fantastic Mk II ‘Crusade’ Armour Set sculpted by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas. Mk II Armour represented a significant technological step forward compared to the original Thunder Armour, and was supplied by the Adeptus Mechanicus, who hand-crafted each component to the highest specification. The few surviving examples of this pattern are still maintained by some of the oldest Space Marine Chapters, venerated as sacred relics.

MkV ‘Heresy’ Armour Set

The iconic Mk V ‘Heresy’ Armour Set is an archaic pattern of Power Armour, first created during the dark and shadowed days of the Great Betrayal, which saw several layers of inferior-quality materials bonded with adamantium studs. As some Forge Worlds sided with Horus and some remained loyal to the Emperor, the supply lines from the Forge Worlds that manufactured arms and armour for the Legions were heavily disrupted, forcing the Legions to develop the MkV pattern.

MkVI ‘Corvus’ Armour Set

Perhaps the most recognisable of all marks of power armour, the Mk VI ‘Corvus’ Armour Set is most associated with the Raven Guard Chapter, but also sees service in many other Chapters. Designed as a successor to the advanced Mk IV ‘Maximus’ armour that was derailed by the Horus Heresy, Mk VI ‘Corvus’ Armour is distinctive for its’ relatively clean appearance and elongated, conical nose – designed to house additional systems including advanced Autosenses. The studded left shoulder pad, taken from the previous Mk V pattern, commemorates the glory of those heroes who stood at the Eternity Gate alongside the Emperor himself.

You can see all of these sets here; along with a gallery of photos showing examples of how these brilliant parts can be combined with plastic Space Marine kits, as well as other Forge World resin accessories such as our Bolter sets and Special Weapons packs. All of these kits are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd, and while this is the last batch of Space Marine kits we will be unveiling for now, keep an eye on Forge World Newsletters over September for news of a few top secret models that we are hoping to release at UK Games Day…

Raven Guard and Flesh Tearers Etched Brass

The first in the expansion to our range of Chapter-specific etched brass accessories are these detailed sets of Raven Guard Etched Brass and Flesh Tearers Etched Brass from the talented hands of Forge World graphic artist Kenton Mills. These detailed frames provide a range of Chapter insignia that can be applied to both infantry and vehicles as you can see here and these symbols are perfect for adding detail and variety to your Raven Guard and Flesh Tearers squads. Both frames will be shipped from August 23rd.

Iron Hands and Imperial Fists Transfer Sheets

Not content to rest on his Etched Brass laurels, Kenton has also put together a new range of Chapter-specific A4 decal sheets, the first of which are Iron Hands Transfers and Imperial Fists Transfers.

These A4 sheets are packed with over 500 individual Chapter badges, squad markings and numbers, as well as vehicle markings and Clan-Company badges in the case of the Iron Hands – all perfect for adding additional detail to your Imperial Fists and Iron Hands units.

Both of these fantastic transfer sheets are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

All these new releases are available to pre-order along with the Caestus Assault Ram, Umbra Pattern Bolter Pack, MkIII ‘Iron Armour’, Special Weapons Pack, MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour and the Umbra Ferrox Bolter Pack – you can find all these kits here.

Space Marine Infantry Upgrade Sets Available to Pre-Order Now:

MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour Set

Leading this weeks’ batch of Space Marine releases is the impressive MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour Set, available to pre-order now. This intricately sculpted full resin kit, designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas, provides enough parts to build 5 Space Marines in MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour, including two different sets of legs, shoulder pads, arms, torsos and helmets.

This pattern of power armour was developed towards the end of the Great Crusade, using advanced technologies recovered by Astartes forces from scattered Forge Worlds across the Imperium. Despite being intended as the pinnacle of power armour technology, and containing many advanced systems, MkIV armour remains a valued rarity among most Chapters.

You can see the components of this resin kit here, along with a photo gallery showing examples of how these brilliant parts can be combined with other Forge World resin accessories such as our Bolter sets and Special Weapon packs.

The MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour can be pre-ordered now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

Umbra Ferrox Pattern Bolter Pack

Like the Umbra Pattern Bolter Pack, the Umbra Ferrox bolter variant was mass-produced by Chapter Techmarines in order to ensure a continuous supply of arms and munitions during the dark days of the Horus Heresy. The Ferrox-pattern weapon exchanges the sickle clip for a box magazine, allowing for a greater ammunition capacity. The weapon features an inbuilt long-range gun-sight, incorporating additional Target Reciprocator Systems that mesh with the Autosenses of power armour.

These detailed weapons are perfect for converting Sternguard Veteran Squads, their larger magazines representing the capacity to choose between the various special ammunition types detailed in Codex: Space Marines.

Click here to see the parts and accessories supplied in this pack. The Umbra Ferrox Bolter Pack, designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas, contains 10 detailed weapons and optional combat blades, and can be pre-ordered now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

All these fantastic new releases, in addition to the Caestus Assault Ram, MkIII ‘Iron’ Armour, Umbra Pattern Bolters and Special Weapons, are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

Forge World will be attending Games Day Baltimore on August 21st, and we hope to have limited quantities of these new Space Marine releases, as well as the usual dizzying selection of our existing range. Our Studio area will be manned by Paul Rudge, Forge World Book Production Manager, who will be showcasing final proof copies of the forthcoming, secret Imperial Armour project. Ork Kill Bursta and Kill Blasta

Oh, nice new Ork models from Forge World.

The Kill Bursta

kbursta3

and the Kill Blasta.

kblasta

These two fearsome machines of destruction are variants on the Kill Krusha, nefarious brainchild of the Murda Meks of Tigrus. Both new kits come with a highly characterful Ork commander and Grot communication system, as well as additional turrets for even more dakka.

With typical Ork ingenuity, Mekboys often nail huge rams and bulldozer blades to the front of what are collectively known as Kill Tanks – all the better to crush and bludgeon the enemy as these brutal vehicles plough through even the heaviest fire.

These huge models are hulking, slab-sided armoured behemoths: each model is around 10’’ long, 5’’ wide, and 5’’ high – take a look at the picture galleries below to see these new Kill Tanks compared to other kits in the Warhammer 40,000 range.

The Kill Bursta mounts a huge-bore Kannon capable of destroying bunkers and siegeworks with ease – the calibre of its devastating shells are such that a single round has even been known to tear the leg from a scout-class Titan (although this could be as much down to luck than the skill of the tanks crew). More pictures of the Kill Bursta can be found here.

The Kill Blasta mounts an insane array of Shootas, Gatlers and rapid-firing Kannons, collectively called a Giga-Shoota. This arsenal of dakka is wired to fire at the same time, engulfing anything unlucky enough to be within range in a fury of shot and shell, leaving nothing but scorched earth and fragments of flesh and armour. More pictures of the Kill Blasta can be found here.

Both Kill Tanks are full resin kits designed by Darren Parwood, with crew sculpted by Mark Bedford, and are available to order here for immediate release.

Full rules and background for both the Kill Blasta and Kill Bursta will be included in the forthcoming Imperial Armour 8.

I do really like these new ‘eavy tanks for the Orks. Very tempted to get them both.

hmmm, nice new Ork stuff

Back on the 1st September I made the following prediction well it was more speculation than hard facts or rumours.

More Ork vehicles – we have just had a wonderful series of Ork vehicles, guns and models released from Forge World, a month away from GamesDay, these would have been a perfect release for the big GamesDay event, but they were released early… So there is an opportunity for some more Ork Vehicles, possibly .

Well my prediction has been realised with the latest Forge World newsletter.

Hi There,

Another Games Day UK update for you, and this time some heavy reinforcements for the Orks in the shape of two major releases; the savage Kill Krusha ‘Eavy Tank and the armour-shredding mechanised power of the Mega-Dread, backed up by a new Ork vehicle upgrade of Grot Sponsons. Meanwhile Forge World is in fevered preparation for the fast-approaching Games Day event, and we should have some more surprises for you yet to come.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Kill Krusha

Ork Kill Krusha ‘Eavy Tank

Rolling onto the battlefields of the 41st millennium for the first time is our new Kill Krusha ‘Eavy Tank for the Orks. This fearsome model is a huge full resin super-heavy tank kit for the Orks, and is designed by Daren Parrwood with crew by Mark Bedford. The intricate detail on this model really has to be seen to be believed, and it includes some incredible interior work as you can see here as well as one Ork tank ‘Kommanda’ three Grots (and a Squig!) as crew. This giant tank is a combination of the Ork`s love of speed and violence, with overcharged engines to launch it across the battlefield (well most of the time), and a main ‘Kannon’ able to fire a number of different shell types to rain carnage down on their enemies.

We should have some Kill Krushas for sale at Games Day UK, and the model is available for pre-order now for release the week commencing the 28th of September.

Mega-Dread

Ork Mega-Dread

Just what every mekboy wants; an even bigger `Dread! This large new model which you can see here is a great addition the Ork ranks; a smoke-belching, hydraulic monster able to tear apart enemy tanks and smash a side lesser war machines with contemptuous ease. Designed by Phil Stutcinskas with pilot by Mark Bedford, this is another amazingly detailed model which, standing at over 5” tall, dwarves a Space Marine Dreadnought.

Just as with our Space Marine Dreadnoughts we are selling the main body of the Mega-Dread (which also comes with two ‘Gatling gun style’ big Shootas) and its weapon arms separately. The two arms we are releasing with it are the Mega-Dread Killkannon arm and the Mega-Dread Rippa-Claw arm. Both of these weapon arms are designed to fit on either side of the Mega-Dread’s body allowing you to customise it as you wish.

Ork Mega-Dread Killkannon

The Mega-Dread Killkannon is a large bore cannon which is fed shells revolver-style from a rotary magazine, and allows the Mega-Dread to tote an artillery piece as easily as an Ork Boy would his shoota, blasting the Mega-Dread’s path through the enemy.

Ork Mega-Dread Rippa-Claw

The Mega-Dread Rippa-Claw is a huge mechanical pincer-claw designed to punch through the toughest armour, and it lets the Mega-Dread rip great chunks of wreckage from enemy vehicles and dismantle siege defences and bunkers piece by piece.

We should have some Mega-Dreads, Mega-Dread Killkannons and Mega-Dread Rippa-Claws for sale at Games Day UK, and the model is available for pre-order now for release the week commencing the 28th of September.

Ork Grot Sponsons

Our last new Ork Preview is our Grot Sponsons designed by Mark Bedford and Daren Parrwood, designed to be added onto existing Ork vehicles to give them a little more firepower in the shape of Big Shootas with Gretchen gunners. The packet contains two different Grot Sponsons to add to your Big Trukks, Battlewagons, Kill Krushas and custom Ork builds.

As with this newsletter’s other previews the Grot Sponsons should be available to buy at Games Day UK and will go on general release in October.

Upcoming Events

Forge World will be in attendance in force at Games Day UK. You can look forward to meeting our whole design and studio team. W`ell also have lots of display models, terrain boards, book previews and our huge sales stand with a massive range of stock, including our events only models and brand new releases in limited numbers for the day itself. Keep an eye on our updated Games day UK webpage for more information and previews.

Note the line…

we should have some more surprises for you yet to come.

I am waiting with anticipation…

The Daemonic Herald of Nurgle, a distorted, slug-like figure with rusted augmetics can also easily be used in a variety of roles such as a Chaos Sorcerer or Nurgle spawn.

Forge World Chaos Brass Scorpion

Forge World have released their most recent newsletter, Forge World Newsletter #209 which has details of the rather nice Chaos Brass Scorpion. Details of new rules will be in the third Siege of Vraks book due this year.

Forge World must have scorpions on the brain this month, as there are also releases for the Red Scorpions Space Marine Chapter.

Hello There,

Even though winter grips us with an icy hand here at Forge World, it hasn`t stopped us getting your orders out, and this newsletter we have something extraordinary for you in the shape of our Chaos Brass Scorpion of Khorne.

As well as this great new model, we have some requested heavy re-enforcement options for the Red Scorpions and our first event of the year.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Chaos Brass Scorpion of Khorne

The Brass Scorpion is a terrifying daemonic engine of destruction dedicated to the Chaos God Khorne, Lord of Slaughter. This nightmarish construct, as much hell-spawned beast as war machine, it storms across the battlefield like a monstrous predator hunting and killing. Its huge claws are capable of shredding armour with ease and its firepower laying waste to swathes of enemy infantry. Even in destruction the foes of Chaos have learned to fear this unholy war machine, as its infernally-charged reactor erupts to scorch the battlefield with the fury of its death-throws.

The Brass Scorpion of Khorne is a fantastically impressive resin model designed by Daren Parrwood, and both an assembled example and a version painted by Mark Bedford can be seen pictured Here. The models has some superb details such as the tangled web of cabling and writhing bodies beneath its angled armour plating, and it can be built in a variety of poses. There is also a 360 degree view of the painted Brass Scorpion here.

A super-heavy war machine, rules for the Brass Scorpion of Khorne can be found in Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse available from Games Workshop, and it will also be included as a new variant in our forthcoming book Imperial Armour Volume Seven: The Siege of Vraks Part 3.

The Chaos Brass Scorpion of Khorne is available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 23rd of February.

Red Scorpions Thunderhawks and Pre-Heresy Land Raider

With the recent release of our Red Scorpions chapter-specific Rhino and Land Raider doors, we are now able to offer our existing Warhammer 40,000 scale Pre-Heresy Land Raider, Thunderhawk Gunship, Thunderhawk Transporter with Rhinos and Thunderhawk Transporter with Land Raider with Red Scorpions chapter-specific iconography. So if you are a Red Scorpions Space Marines player looking for add some heavy firepower to your Apocalypse games, or make sure your armoured support arrives on time, a Thunderhawk can serve as a fantastic reminder for your opponent why the Space Marines are also known as the Angels of Death.

These Red Scorpion models are available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 23rd of February.

Salute 2009

Our first event of the New Year, Forge World will be attending the Salute games show at the London Excel Centre on Saturday 28th March, were we will have a selection of our models. You can also place a reservation order to pick up and pay for on the day, either by giving us a ring or sending us an email to fwreservations@games-workshop.co.uk before Friday the 13th of March.

I seem to be in the minority as I really quite like this model, and if you read this blog I am not a fan of Chaos one bit!

Forge World Newsletter #194

News of the big new Titan.

Hi There,
The great announcement this Newsletter is the arrival of the mighty Reaver Titan for pre-order. Much anticipated since we first showed a prototype of the model back at Games Day UK last year, this huge model kit is now finished and available to order. It’s caused quite a stir while previewed at our recent events, having garnered lots of excited interest (and its fair share of “ooos” and “aaahs,”) and here it is at last for everyone to see in full!
Thanks
Alan Bligh

Reaver Titan

The Mars Pattern Reaver Titan

The long awaited Reaver, designed by Will Hayes, is a fantastic model which is not only impressively huge, it`s also highly detailed, and comes complete with a full set of crew and a numbered certificate. You can find plenty of pictures of this extraordinary model, including interior detail shots Here on our website, with two examples painted in the colours of the Warp Runners by Phil Stutchinskas and the War Griffons Legion by Stuart Witter.

This huge model is a veritable goliath of the battlefield weighing in at well over twice the weight of a Warhound Titan, and standing at 400mm (approx) 16” high and 255mm (approx) 10” from shoulder to shoulder!

As well as being a truly imposing presence on the battlefield, it is, as you would expect from a Battle Titan, a terrifying opponent in gaming terms, and you can find experimental trial rules for the Titan for your Apocalypse games here. With lots of firepower and great durability thanks to its structure points and void shields, we’ve had it taking on multiple Scout Titans during play test and wiping the floor with slews of lesser super heavies! As well as dominating the tabletop, the Reaver would also make a stunning display model for collectors and a great painting project for hobbyists and gamers alike.

Ordering
The Reaver Titan is available in three weapons combinations, each features the carapace mounted Apocalypse Missile Launcher, and it is available either with a Gatling Blaster and Turbo Laser Blaster, or with two Gatling Blasters or two Turbo Laser Blasters.
The Reaver Titan is available to pre order now with shipping from the 26th of May. However if you want a Reaver as soon as possible, we recommend you order soon, as we will only be making a few of these large and complex models each week.

New Catalogue

In the next few days Forge World will be releasing its new 2008 catalogue. If you would like a copy of the catalogue (which is free regardless of wherever you are in the world), please get in touch with us at our catalogue request email address at forgeworldcatreq@games-workshop.co.uk or give a ring and we’ll take your address details and get you one sent out.

Games Baltimore and Canada

Forge World will also be attending both Games Day Baltimore in the US on the 14th of June and Games Day Canada in Toronto on the 21st of June, and as usual, you will be able to place reservation orders with us to pick up and pay for at the event. Owing to ongoing demand for our models, we may not be able to take a full range of stock to these events, so if you would like to place a reservation order, please get the details to us as soon as possible, as the earlier you do so, the better your chances are of getting exactly what you are after on the day! Also, we are hoping to have a few Reaver Titans for sale at these events, but if you are definitely after one, we recommend you to place a reservation for it.

The final deadline for reservations for Games Day Baltimore is the 26th of May, and for Games Day Canada the 2nd of June.
