Having been slightly disappointed with the quality of the Blastscape scenery, I decided that I would try and improve on the models by adding some texture and scenic items.
Using PVA (white glue) and GW sand I flocked the edges. I also added some GW slate to some of the pieces.

It came in a plastic bag! They are vac formed plastic.

When I saw this product for Apocalypse on the Games Workshop website, it looked really good.
So I thought I would get a pack.
Alas the original image on the website was of some resin masters, the vac formed final product was nothing like what we saw in the previews. Though GW did revise the product image to what you actually got rather than using resin masters.
It was a pity really that they didn’t make resin versions (like the Urban Barricades and Ork Barricades). Having said all that, they were a splash release and are now no longer available to buy.
They came in a plastic bag.
This week Games Workshop announced the release of some new Orc Boar Boyz for Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

Orc Boar Boyz are rough, tough and very determined. They ride into battle atop War boars – evil-minded creatures that will take every opportunity to maim, bite and kick the enemy of their Orc masters. Boar Boyz are the shock cavalry of an Orc and Goblin army, and they love nothing better that to gore, stamp and inflict damage on the enemy.
These are very nice looking plastic miniatures.
I can’t be the only Warhammer 40,000 Ork player looking at these new models and thinking time to add some Boar Boyz for my Feral Orks.

I have done this before with some other Warhammer Fantasy Orc Boar Riders.
Games Workshop have released details and made available for pre-order their plastic Honoured Imperium kit.

This box set contains three pieces of plastic Warhammer 40,000 scenery, including a 6-inch high Space Marine statue, a broken Aquila and a section of ruined building.
I mentioned the broken Aquila (or fallen eagle) a few days ago and had photographed a prototype back at GamesDay 2007.
I do hope what we are seeing on the website reflect what the actual models are like, he says reflecting on the Blastscape pictures!!!
Interesting new expansion from Games Workshop for Warhammer 40K announced today.
Gather your tanks and ready your lascannons – in June the pages of White Dwarf magazine and the Games Workshop website join forces to bring you a whole new expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Spearhead.
Spearhead is a new way to play Warhammer 40,000 that enables you to unleash exciting tank battles and daring breakthrough missions on the tabletop, bringing the full mechanised fury of the 41st Millennium to bear in your games. June’s White Dwarf will contain the main part of the supplement, including new rules, missions and plenty of inspirational hobby advice. Alongside this, the Games Workshop website will feature additional material exclusively for registered members, such as details of how to assemble your Spearhead formations along with even more painting, modelling and collecting tips.
As if a whole new Expansion wasn’t exciting enough, it’s going to be accompanied by a range of new miniatures including some stunning new plastic kits – more details of these kits, and the Spearhead Expansion, will follow in White Dwarf and here on the Games Workshop website.
So this isn’t a new publication, but a WD article that expands the gameplay of WH40K.
Interested to know what new tank kits we will see.
This Damocles Command Rhino won the Forgeworld Best of Show prize in the 2005 UK Golden Demon awards.
The radar dish moved around and as you can see in this shot, the inside included “real” lights (made from LEDs).
It was very well painted and made good use of the Forgeworld Imperial Fists doors. Some very nice weathering as well.
