Whilst the statue (and variations) has appeared a few times as well…

…including this broken version at GamesDay 2007.

This box set contains three pieces of plastic Warhammer 40,000 scenery, including a 6-inch high Space Marine statue, a broken Aquila and a section of ruined building. The set consists of two sprues.

The broken Aquila comes in two parts.

This easily sticks together.

It’s much bigger than I thought it would be, I photographedit with two of my Orks to give you an idea of the size.

Does make you wonder what it actually fell off?

The ruined building comes in two parts.

This goes together quite easily.

The statue was a little more complex to put together. I did think it would have been nice to have some instructions. It was only after I completed the model that I realised that the instructions were on the side of the box.

The first stage was a white undercoat using a Citadel white spray can.

The ruined building.

I do like the statue.

Having undercoated I am wondering if I should have filled the join lines.

I gave the models a base coat of Humbrol Sea Grey spray paint.

I then used a variety of greys and drybushed them on.

Finishing up with a very light grey.

I was originally going to keep the whole model grey, but I am now thinking I might add more scenic and foliage and rather than have it as a recently broken Aquila, have it as one that was broken some time ago and nature has over time grown around it. The Imperium has been around for ages and so it still fits the fluff.

I used the same process on the statue and the ruins that I had used on the Aquila.
