Sadly no longer available…

One of my favourite pieces from Forgeworld was the Epic Cathedral. This is Carl’s (from Dropzone) which was part of the scenery from an excellent demonstration game of Epic at GamesDay 2001.

Epic Cathedral

I really do like this model and Carl has done an excellent paint job on this.

Epic Cathedral

So much better than mine…

Alas it is no longer available from Forge World which is a pity, the nice tank factory is also not available, ah well.

You have to ask is Apocalypse the new Epic, but just with a bigger table?

Warhound Titan

Back in 2003 saw Forge World release their 40K scale Warhound Titan, this is it on display at GamesDay 2003.

Now with Apocalypse we are seeing Forge World getting inundated with orders for Titans, so much so that they are having trouble coping with the orders…

Now I suspect we will see more Titans on the gaming table, I have considered getting one (if I had the money and more importantly the time to build and paint one), but as an Ork player there is very little choice, ah well.

Warhammer Inn

This is Forge World’s Warhammer Inn which was on display in their cabinets at GamesDay 2004.

Warhammer Inn

I really do like this model and keep meaning to buy one at some point, however as I still need to paint the Warhammer buildings I already have! Once they are painted I may purchase this really nice building… or do I get that Macharius with Vulcan Mega Bolter which is the same price?

Space Wolves Land Speeder Tempest

Space Wolves Land Speeder Tempest, the Tempest variant of the Land Speeder features an armoured and enclosed single seat cockpit, nose mounted Assault Cannon and side mounted missiles. The Tempest is deployed by Marine Chapters when fast moving heavy fire support is needed.

Space Wolves Land Speeder Tempest

This was from a Space Wolves army, which includes virtually (if not all) the Space Marine models and conversions from Forge World as well as all the plastic and metal models from Citadel.

It was on display at both GamesDay 2006 and GamesDay 2007.

More photographs of this army. Also have a look at our Land Speeder gallery.

Aquila Lander

This Aquila Lander was on display in the Forge World cabinets at GamesDay 2004.

It was a well painted model and has a lot of detail, look into the cockpit to see what I mean, click the image for a larger image.

Personally I was never a fan of the Aquila Lander it seemed just too different from other Imperial Navy aircraft or even Space Marine aircraft. I much prefer the Arvus Lighter even though it is unarmed!

More photographs of the Aquila Lander.

Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor

I have been adding some more symbology and seals to my Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor.

I have been using Forge World’s Inquisitor brass etchings and their resin purity seals.

They are a nice and simple (yet effective) way of adding character to Daemonhunter vehicles.

Workbench feature on the Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor.

Forge World Postal Delays

It would seem that Apocalypse is causing big problems for Forge World. Everyone (and a few others) are all purchasing big models for use in Apocalypse games, you know Titans, Shadowswords, Medusas, Squiggoths, etc…

As a result Forge World are having a few problems coping with the demand and therefore there are now delays in getting orders out.

With the recent release of WH40K Apocalypse and the forthcoming Christmas period demand for Forge World models is at an all time high. This has unfortunately led to delays in processing of all orders. Demand for certain models (especially those featured in the Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse rulebook) has been extremely high. Please rest assured we are still committed to despatching orders to all our customers as quickly as possible but significant delays may be unavoidable.

Of course guess who just put in a Forge World order!

Ork Bommerz

This very nicely done Ork Bommer was on display in the Gaming Club Network display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

Ork Bommer

I do like this model and wouldn’t mind getting one, though the amount of time it has taken me to model and paint my Ork Fighter makes me think that if I did get one, it will probably be 2015 before it ever flew over the gaming table!

Also Forge World are going to make 28mm versions of their Heavy Ork Bommerz which they recently produced for aeronautica imperialis and that might be even more fun to make and paint.
