Black Templars Rhino

Black Templars Rhino at Warhammer World from my visit in January 2020.

I first saw this model at GamesDay 2005.

More photographs of the Rhino.

The Rhino, or more formally, the Mars Pattern Rhino, is an Imperial armoured personnel carrier (APC) that is widely used throughout the galaxy by many different factions, though it is a mainstay vehicle of the Adeptus Astartes. It has provided safe transportation since the days of the Great Crusade, transporting its cargo of Space Marines swiftly and safely to the forefront of battle. Robust and versatile, and able to resist the most hostile of environments, the Rhino has become the basic troop transport for Space Marine squads.

This photograph was taken at Warhamer World in January 2020, another view of the same tank from Games Day 2005.

The Predator, is the most common main battle tank employed by the Space Marines of the Imperium of Man and the Traitor Legions of the Chaos Space Marines. It is a more heavily armed and armoured version of the Rhino armoured personnel carrier.

Space Marine Storm Eagle

This Storm Eagle was in one of the display cabinets at Warhammer World

A formidable gunship, the Storm Eagle mounts fearsome firepower for a vehicle of its size and is capable of transporting twenty Space Marines directly into the thick of an assault. The exact provenance of the Storm Eagle is unknown, but it bears clear similarities to the Stormravens employed by the Blood Angels and Grey Knights. Certain sources place the principal manufacture of the Storm Eagle upon Tigrus and Anvilus IX, both primary-grade Forge Worlds that suffered catastrophic damage during the Horus Heresy.

In recent decades the number of Storm Eagles in active service has begun to increase, especially amongst those Chapters known to have favourable relations with the Adeptus Mechanicus. This has lead some observers to believe that production has been restored at an as yet unknown location.

Space Marine Hunter

As the main surface-to-air tank, the Hunter scours the the skies of enemy bombers and fighter craft with its skyspear missile launcher.

This Hunter was on display at Warhammer World.

The primary weapon of the Space Marine Stalker is the skyspear missile launcher. There are also options to include re-inforced armour on the sides of the tank, as well as pneumatic pins along the base.

Space Marine Flyers

This Stormtalon Gunship was on display at Warhammer World.

Stormtalon Gunship

The Stormtalon Gunship serves the armies of the Adeptus Astartes as both an interceptor and ground-attack craft. It is fast enough to engage all but the swiftest of enemies, and sufficiently well-armed to reduce the chosen foe to a mangle of twisted wreckage and ruined flesh. The tide of many a battle has turned with the thunderbolt descent of a Stormtalon Gunship from the war-torn skies.

There was also a Stormhawk Interceptor at Warhammer World.

An awesome sight, descending at incredible velocities from orbiting warships to engage and annihilate enemy craft, Stormhawk Interceptors are a stunning hymn to aerial superiority that the Space Marines sing with gusto. The frontal armour and huge firepower makes them excellent dogfighters, hurtling through the clouds to execute target after target in a blazing display of incendiary defiance. Often seen in Vehemence Attack Patterns, Stormhawk squadrons and their golden haloes of flares discharged to gently dissuade incoming fire are a signal that whatever planet the skies are over, they belong to the Emperor.

The Baal Predator is a specialised variant of the Predator design. The Baals weapon load-out is far more closely suited to the close range fire fights favoured by the Blood Angels, employing twin-assault cannons to shred enemy formations. Furthermore, equipped with a turret mounted flamestorm cannon it is capable of swiftly clearing bunkers and barricades.

Land Raider Crusader

The Land Raider Crusader is a variant of the standard Land Raider Phobos used by the Space Marines and the Inquisition. The Land Raider Crusader is rearmed to provide short-ranged, anti-infantry assault support for Astartes offensives.

The Land Raider Crusader is intended to be an assault-based variant of the Land Raider that is a linebreaker without peer. The Crusader can smash through enemy formations, shrugging off small arms fire in order to disgorge a squad of Space Marines into the heart of the foe.

In place of Lascannons, the Crusader is armed with Hurricane Bolters that cut down the first line of defenders before an assault is launched. A hull-mounted twin Assault Cannon adds to its formidable anti-infantry firepower, its Frag Assault Launchers suppressing the foe while the tank closes in. The Crusader also boasts an improved transport capacity by reclaiming the space normally given over to the Land Raider Phobos’ bulky las-power generators.
