Forgeworld Newsletter #133

++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

This week we have two great new Epic 40K aircraft models to show you as well as a very exciting new Tyranid, the first in our up and coming range of Tyranid models. As an added bonus we also have a set of experimental rules for this bio-killing-machine for you to try out too.
Thx,

Ewen Little,
Forge World.

It Came From Below! New Tyranid Trygon
Excerpt from Imperial Records: <<<The Trygon is one of the larger Tyranid abominations, a huge creature that favours ambushing its prey by burrowing through the ground and bursting up into their midst. To make matters worse, the Trygon is often followed by hordes of smaller Tyranid monsters which use the tunnels to avoid being cut down by the brave defenders of the Imperium! Unfortunately the huge claws on this creature have proven quite capable of ripping though armoured vehicles and buildings, so a Trygon should be targeted with maximum firepower as quickly as possible. Once the Trygon’s thick armour is cracked open, despatching this monster is slightly easier but heavy weapon support is still advised as engaging even a mortally wounded Trygon in close combat is a foolhardy endeavour.>>> Now this is a model that I REALLY like. I think it is the Medusa-like way that it is put together, part snake, part monster, the shape just ticks all the right boxes in my head. I built my new Eldar army to have as much firepower as possible and I tell you this, I am oh so glad they have the ‘Fleet of Foot’ special rule so they can run away from this beastie. Having a Trygon burst out of the ground right in the middle of them would not end well… The Trygon model measures an impressive 140mm/5.5inches tall, which dwarfs most other 40K models and is a complete multi-part resin kit just requiring assembly and painting. Pre-orders are now being taken for what is sure to be a very popular addition to Tyranid collections and these will be released and sent out from Monday November 21st.

Death from the Skies! New Hell Blade and Nightwing Aircraft Spotted
Forge World’s range of Epic 40,000 scale aircraft expands yet further with the introduction of Eldar Nightwing and Chaos Hell Blade packs. The Nightwing is perhaps our smallest model that features moving parts! The designer, one William Hayes, made the master model so that the wings can move forwards and back, just like the much larger 40K scale Nightwing we released a few years ago. To counter the Eldar threat, Daren Parrwood has recently finished a master model of the Chaos Hell Blade fighter. This diminutive model features all the overlaid banding and coiled pipes that adorn its bigger brother and somehow he has managed to make it in just one piece too! In amongst all our other projects, we are working on a set of aerial combat rules that we hope to publish as a game, but there will be more on that next year so watch this space… Both packs of these lovely new models are now up on the Forge World online store and can be pre-ordered for release on Monday November 21st.

Newly Painted Models
Paul, the Forge World web-guy, has told me that he has just uploaded new photos of several models that we have had returned from painting. These include the new Eldar Revenant with Sonic Lances, Eldar Scorpion 2, Chaos Hell Blade fighter, Imperial Aquila and the Necron Pylon.
