Ork Kommandos

I have added materials from the urban basing kit to my Ork Kommandos.

I didn’t use any of the resin pieces, but used the large and small slate. I think I will add some barbed wire as well.

I initially decided to paint their backpacks separately, so thought of how I would need to mount them. After much thought (and a fair bit of procrastination) I decided against that idea and stuck the backpacks on.

The Kommandos come with two different backpacks, I’ve thought with the Stikkbombz and Tankbombz that these models would make good Tankbustaz.

Here are the Kommandos.

Here is the Kommandos Mob complete with Big Shoota and Burna.

Next stage will be the undercoat.

I have based my other Ork bosses on 40mm bases, so I might at some point rebase him, but for the moment he can stay on his smaller base (well he is an infiltrator).

Next stage will be the undercoat.

Ork Kommando with Burna

At GamesDay 2006 I purchased a box of Ork Kommandos. I recently got the Kommando with a Burna to add to the force.

Having put the model together, I added some slate and modelling sand to the base.

After much thought I decided I would stick the fuel tank on the back of the Ork as painting it separately seemed a lot of extra effort.

The next stage was to give the model a black undercoat.

Ork Kommando with Burna

I have been putting together my Ork Kommando with Burna and basing him with some Games Workshop modelling sand and slate.

The model goes together quite well, initially I left off the backpack to paint separately, though since I took these photographs, I changed my mind and stuck it on.

He will join my other Kommandos that I am working on.

Ork Kommando with Burna

The Ork Kommando with Burna comes as two castings.

Ork Kommando with Burna

The actual model comprises four components, the main body, a backpack and the two arms, one of which has the actual burna.

Ork Kommando with Burna

Fitting the model together was relatively easy, the arms fitted well and there are only minimal gaps which need filling.

Ork Kommando with Burna

At the moment I am not sure whether to attach the backpack now or later.

Ork Kommando with Burna

Next stage will be using green stuff to fill the gaps.

Ork Kommando with Burna (again) didn’t realise I had one already…

When I got my XXX White Dwarf figure I purchased an Ork Kommando with Burna as I wanted the figure to go with my Ork Kommandos.

What I had forgotten was I had purchased the very same figure in March!

Doh!

Ah well so I have two now.

So that means more than one way to burn Imperial Guard tanks!

Ork Kommandos

I have put my Ork Kommandos on their bases.

I have decided to paint their backpacks separately, so will need to mount them somehow.

The boss (Nob) has a separate arm and head, so I stuck them on.

One of the nice touches (Jes Godwin told me this) is the bullet hole in his left boot just below his Slugga holster.

It’s as though one day, he was holstering his pistol and BANG!
