I am in the process of painting my third Grot Bomb Launcha. This will take me to a battery of three of them. So far one is fully painted, the other on it’s way.
With the third one I have given the model an undercoat. Some parts were given a black undercoat and the remaining a white undercoat.
The black undercoated parts will be drybrushed with Tin Bitz and Boltgun Metal, whilst the white parts will be painted with a sand colour.
See the full workbench feature on this the third Grot Bomb Launcha.
The Orks are moving forward, shouting at the top of their lungs, whilst overhead Ork Bommerz scream and release their payloads of bombs.
This is the scene faced by Simon’s Imperial Guard in a game we had.
Great fun!

This is Simon’s Imperial Guard Hellhound.
He has made a few changes which make it look more like the Churchill Crocodile variant from the Second World War. Rather than have the external fuel tanks on the back of the Chimera, he has added an external fuel trailer. This is from the Ork Skorcha model with an additional fuel drum added. In combat this would have the advantage that if the main flame weapon was taken out (or ran out) they could drop the trailer for greater speed and better manoeuvrability.
In our games we do use the Apocalypse flame template and this earlier posting explains why.
More pictures of the Hellhound.

As I showed before on this blog Will Hayes and Mark Bedford have been working on a Ork Warboss Biker and now they have finished it and is available to order from Forge World.
It’s not cheap at £38, but it is a very nice model, and I really quite like it, especially the stonking big rocket!
BBC reports that David Tennant is to quit playing Doctor Who.
David Tennant is to stand down as Doctor Who, after becoming one of the most popular Time Lords in the history of the BBC science fiction show.
Tennant stepped into the Tardis in 2005, and will leave the role after four special episodes are broadcast next year.
He made the announcement after winning the outstanding drama performance prize at the National Television Awards.
“When Doctor Who returns in 2010 it won’t be with me,” he said.
For me, David Tennant was a most excellent Doctor and probably one of the best ever. It will be difficult to fill his shoes.
I knew Spooks was coming back this autumn, however not watching much on the television recently meant I didn’t see any trailers. Nor did I get a newspaper either, so didn’t know that it was on tonight at 9pm.
Years ago it would have been a problem as I would have to wait until repeats.
Now we have a few technologies which make it much easier.
I could wait until it appears on DVD, though generally with BBC programmes it takes a long time to get onto DVD.
With Freeview I can watch repeats on BBC Three later this week…
And of course BBC iPlayer means I can watch it now, less than 30 minutes after it finished on BBC One.
Cool.

BBC reports that:
A two-minute teaser clip from this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special is to be shown during the BBC’s Children in Need charity evening next month.
Interestingly guest star David Morrissey’s character’s name is “The Next Doctor”… Hmmm…
More pictures of the new Orks have appeared online, they were taken at GamesDay in Italy. We have another image of the new Ork Battlewagon. The model looks more impressive and imposing in this shot and gives a better idea of the size as well.

That’s on my shopping list.
So only yesterday I posted a work in progress of one of my metal grotz and today I find pictures of the rumoured plastic grotz.

They do look very nice and looks like (from the sprues) that you also get the Slaver as well.

Really nice and looking forward to getting those.
