Primeval Season Three

ITV will start broadcasting the third season of Primeval on the 28th March. With all the cuts taking place at ITV you might expect this to be the last series.

I have enjoyed the first two seasons of Primeval and if you ensure that you don’t take it too seriously it is fun Saturday night television.

It will be interesting to see which direction the third season goes in.

Imperial Guard Heavy Mortar

One of the reasons for going to GamesDay are the huge display games, my personal favourites are the ones form Forge World.

This one representing part of the Siege of Vraks had titans, super heavy tanks, and lots of trenches and guns.

Here is a Death Korps of Krieg Heavy Mortar, field artillery is often used by Imperial Guard commanders to pound enemy positions.

Witchhunter Acolyte – Inquisitorial Henchmen

I am adding some Henchmen to my Inquistorial force. One of them is a trainee inquisitor, a Witchhunter Acolyte. The Acolyte looks like an interesting model to paint, what with the book and the big flame thingy.

Having flocked the base with Games Workshop modelling sand, the model was given a white undercoat.

The model was given a basecoat of Vomit Brown.

Squiggoth

My Ork Squiggoth moves forward.

Squiggoth

This is the Forge World model and you can see how I painted it in my workbench feature on the model.

Of course the rules for this model are not in the standard rules or the Ork Codex.

I use to use the Forge World supplements, but more recently I have been using the rules from Apocalypse.

The Squiggoth has a Zzap gun mounted, and with the recent change in the rules has meant that it is less effective than in the original rules. In the original Ork Codex, the Zzap gun would automatically hit and you would roll 2D6 for the strength. With the new version of the rules, you still roll 2D6 for the strength, but now you need to roll to hit!

We are considering a house rule that uses the old rule.
