The Razorback is a tracked, armoured vehicle used by Space Marine Chapters. Its design is based on the Rhino chassis and as such is quite easy to manufacture, sharing many of its design features. It is sometimes favoured over the Rhino because of its superior firepower, although this comes at the cost of less transport space.

This makes it an ideal transport for an Inquisitor.

I am reminded that I have my very own Grey Knights Razorback on the workbench.

Corvus Blackstar

This Corvus Blackstar was in the displays at Warhammer World.

Far, far more advanced than the other Imperial craft which it resembles, the Corvus Blackstar is truly worthy of ferrying a Deathwatch Kill Team to their brutal mission. Optimised for alien hunting, surprisingly agile, its heavy weapons scream death from the skies as it descends toward its mission-critical targets. Halo-launchers fan out and blur the Corvus Blackstar’s outline as the twin hatches slam open, pouring out its cargo of specialist Deathwatch from within to charge directly into the fray.

Thinking that this might make a nice transport for my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers.

They are part of my Daemonhunters army for Warhammer 40K.

I decided when painting up my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, to use the Cadian Kasrkin for them.

I did decide when thinking about a paint scheme, to not use the accepted traditional look for the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers and go with a desert theme.

Now that’s better…

In a previous post I talked about the problems I had had with the Citadel Spray Gun in undercoating a Land Raider.

You can see in this close-up how the thinned paint ran from the flat surface. Was not at all impressed.

So I tried again and got a much better result as you can see from the following photographs. Nice smooth finish.

Though this is a Grey Knights Land Raider, I decided early on with this force that the majority of the armoured vehicles would be a sandy desert colour. I used Citadel Foundation Paint, Tausept Ochre as the basecoat.

Sometimes you get it wrong…

I had started to paint the basecoat of my Grey Knights Land Raider using a normal brush. I decided that I would try using Citadel’s spray gun to base coat the rest of the Land Raider. However due to thinning the paint too much I didn’t get the result I hoped for. As you can see it didn’t work out too well.

From this angle it looks better, but’s that only because this was the area I had originally done part of the basecoat of by brush.

Think it’s time to get a proper airbrush with a proper compressor. However give the GW Spray Gun its due, it got me thinking about airbrushing over just brush painting.

Grey Knights Land Raider

Having given the Land Raider a black undercoat I started the basecoat.

Though this is a Grey Knights Land Raider, I decided early on with this force that the majority of the armoured vehicles would be a sandy desert colour.

I used Citadel Foundation Paint, Tausept Ochre as the basecoat.
