Mark IIb Land Raider

I have undercoated my Mark IIb Land Raider with a black undercoat.

This is to be a Grey Knights Land Raider, though I may use it now and again as an Inquisitor transport. As you can see from this shot though, the undercoat didn’t really cover the front, so I might need to give it another coat.

Next stage will be the basecoat.

No one told me…

Having started painting some Old West miniatures, I started to think about scenery. I remembered from years ago that Snapdragon Studio made some Old West Scenery. So let’s “Google” them. I did find them and found their wonderful Old West buldings, however I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Snapdragon had started to sell some of their 1/300th SF range again.

I was always a fan of  their buildings and have quite a few in my collection including this bunker.

Snapdragon Studio Bunker

Simon has one as well.

Snapdragon Studio Bunker

My Epic battle reports shows many of their buildings off (there are some Forge World ones in the reports as well).

Time to think about which buildings I am going to buy.

Old West Outlaws

I was lucky enough to get for Christmas two packs of Foundry Old West Outlaws (thank you Simon).

Old West Outlaws

There twelve miniatures in total, which should be more than enough for some Old West games.

Old West RulesI shall be using the Legends of the Old West Warhammer Historical rules which I purchased when I was at GamesDay 2008.

A tabletop miniatures game which allows you to bring to life the deeds of the brave lawmen and gunfighters of the most famous period in America’s history. This lavish, full-colour manual contains all the rules you need to gather your posse and play games set on the harsh American frontier. Within you will find eight action-packed scenarios, and a campaign system that allows you to develop your fighters into hard-bitten heroes and villains of the Old West.

Fight alongside some of the deadliest figures of Western legend – such as Billy the Kid, Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp. Rob a stagecoach with the James gang, or try to out-draw Wild Bill Hickock. Grab your sixgun, saddle your mustang and prepare to take part in the wildest adventure of them all!

First stage will be to base them and then give them an undercoat.

Grey Knights Razorback

If you have looked at my Grey Knights Landspeeder you will realise that I am attempting to paint a Grey Knights force which goes beyond the listings in the DaemonHunters Codex. What I am trying to do is to create a Grey Knights force (using the Space Marine Codex) and then using a DaemonHunters force as allies.

Having constructed my Razorback and added Grey Knights iconography I gave the model a black undercoat.

The next stage will be adding the basecoat.

UK White Dwarf #349

Managed to get hold of the January issue of the UK White Dwarf #349. Not sure if I got it early or whether GW released it early as the last Friday of the month is Boxing Day!

It’s a very Orky issue, with lots of Orks in it, and Orky stuff.

Very nice battle report involving lots of Orks and lots of BIG Ork stuff such as submersibles and Pulsa Rokkits.

Of course lots on the new Battlewagon.

If you are an Ork player, well worth getting a copy.
