Having finished a lot of my Grey Knights Land Speeder, I started working on the crew.
I started with a black basecoat and then gave the armour a basecoat of Boltgun Metal.
Next stage will be highlights and details.
Vostroyan Basilisk on display at Warhammer World.

I think that Games Workshop missed the target with the Vostroyans, they had an opportunity to make something as good as Forge World’s Death Korps and I believe that they missed the boat. The Vostroyans are not quite right in my opinion, though I know others like them.
Space Wolves Land Raider Crusader.

This Space Wolves army includes virtually (if not all) the Space Marine models and conversions from Forge World as well as all the plastic and metal models from Citadel.
It was on display at both GamesDay 2006 and GamesDay 2007.
More photographs of this army. Also have a look at our Land Raider and Land Raider Crusader galleries.
Having given the Ork Gunwagon a basecoat of Tausept Ochre I have given the other parts of the model a drybrush of Tin Bitz and Boltgun Metal.
This is another view.
Next stage will be a wash.
I have finally got my copy of the Apocalypse rulebook. I was kind of expecting that Santa would be bringing me a copy, however Santa saw that I had received in the post the Forge World Apocalypse book and assumed (wrongly) that I had gone out and bought it myself!
So there I was with the Forge World book and no actual Apocalypse book, so I went out in the sales and bought a copy (and alas it wasn’t reduced).
I am kind of disappointed with it, I don’t know maybe I was expecting more. It’s a pity there aren’t more colour pictures, I guess I was spoiled by the Forge World version which at £20 is £10 cheaper and seems to have a lot more colour in it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the big four page spreads, the Ork spread of islands is fantastic and very inspiring. I also like the armoured train and termite which are shown.
Maybe I was expecting more from the rules, maybe I wanted more datasheets for my Orks.
So far I have not had a game of Apocalypse but will do so at some point in the future, a nice big game against Simon, he has Imperial Guard (lots of tanks and guns) and Space Marines, whilst I will be using my Orks and Inquisitorial forces, now there’s an alliance which will take some justifying…
Well according to a few rumours flying around at the moment it is highly likely that Games Workshop will be releasing an Apocalypse datasheet for an Ork submersible.
Able to carry sixty boyz it will also have a huge gun as well.
Excellent.
Forge World’s excellent Eldar Revenant Titan on display at GamesDay 2004.

I am never sure whether I like this model or not. Don’t get me wrong the paint job (by George Dellapina if I remember correctly) is excellent. I do like the sculpting, the lines and the pose. I guess my problem is that for the Warhammer 40K universe it looks too light footed, too flimsy, too featherweight!
But then again I am not an Eldar player so what do I know?

My main force of Daemonhunters Inquisitorial Stormtroopers are based on the Cadian Kasrkin, this was a boxed set I got years ago (when they came out if I remember correctly). They were stuck and based a few years back, as well as undercoated white, and then (as I guess with many miniatures) left in a box.
I recently got them out to start painting them. The first stage was a basecoat of Desert Yellow. These are the heavy weapon troopers and the sergeant.
This is quite a watery thin paint compared to other Citadel paints, but was just like thinning any other Citadel paint with water without actually needing to do that. Here is the rear view, and unlike most Imperial Guard, the Cadian Kasrkin have backpacks which identifies them as stormtroopers.
I have left the boots alone, as these will be painted Scorched Brown. I do like these models which are really well sculptured.
