BoarBoyz

I have already got two painted BoarBoyz and I have started to model and paint another. I had already painted the boar and was intending to use the metal Warhammer Orc which I had bought, but in the end used the same plastic Orc legs from the Orc Warriors Command Sprue as the metal Warhammer Orc Boar rider was “too different” and in my mind would have looked out of place.

I wanted to give this rider a spear so decided to have the Shoota carried on the Ork’s back. Using green stuff I modelled a strap for the gun.

I am not that good with green stuff, but for a gaming model (this is no Golden Demon entry) it works for me.

Where’s the spear, well I haven’t stuck it on yet!

Epic Covered Trukk

I had some green stuff left over from another modelling project, so I decided to have a go at modeling a covered trukk (ie one with a tarpaulin cover).

Not sure about the end result, but I think it will look better when painted. If I had the skills I would add ropes and stuff (I don’t so I don’t think I will even bother).

Defending the Administratum…

Had an excellent game of Warhammer 40k this weekend (well I won as well).

My Orks were tasked with defending an Imperial Administratum with just Boyz (infantry) and small-arms as well as a few heavy weapons.

There was one Nob in Mega-Armour, but for the game was considered to be not wearing it (or it wasn’t working, made out of mdf or cardboard or similar).

Coming in waves were hundreds and hundreds of Imperial Guard (okay fifty).

In the end the Imperial Guard were wiped out to a man, very Russian in their approach of waves of infantry across the square.

The scenery is Forgeworld, from Simon’s collection and has been excellently painted by him.

Ork Mekboy made and undercoated

I was given an Ork Mekboy for Christmas.

Having stuck the arm on, but leaving the backpack off, I undercoated the model white.

Normally I undercoat my Orks black, but on the odd occasion I undercoat white, in this instance as I had no black undercoat!

Killa Kan undercoated

I have undercoated my Ork Killa Kan.

You will notice how light the undercoat is, and that unlike previous versions this has a white undercoat. Partly to try out something new and partly as I had run out of black spray paint.

I have undercoated the Ork Looted Rhino, white not black.

It is has been stuck together into two separate halves.

I have left off the tracks and you will notice how light the undercoat is.

I still have to do the front top hatches, one of which will contain an Ork with a heavy weapon aka the Forgeworld model.

Preparation…

I have prepared the Ork Looted Rhino for undercoating.

It is has been stuck together into two separate halves.

I have left off the tracks and I still have to do the front top hatches, one of which will contain an Ork with a heavy weapon aka the Forgeworld model.

More on the Wartrakk…

I have added a glyph and some rivets to the front armour plate of the bike section of the Wartrakk.

I have also added a searchlight (taken from the Chaos Vehicle sprue).

Ready for the paintshop.

Extra Armour for the Wartrakk

I wanted to add some extra armour plates to the Wartrakk.

The first stage was adding some cut our pieces of plasticard.

I also used some spare Imperial tracks.

The armour plates were suitably weathered and rivets were added.

This should make it look different to my usual Wartrakk.

I am quite pleased with the simple addition.

Ork Wartrakk Conversion

Though I might use it with my Grot Bomb Launcha…

Following the concept picture I posted earlier, I have now in fact built the Wartrakk tracks.

They are Imperial Tank tracks which I was originally using (many moons ago) for a Gorkamorka project which, well, just work. Therefore rather than using new sprues these have been broken apart which I think makes them a little more Orky.

I added some plastic strip on the back.
