Operation Sealion German Armoured Train

This found its way onto my workbench (and with the recent discussion on Operation Sealion) I thought people might be interested.

German Armoured Train using a captured GWR Tank Engine

It is a 20mm German Armoured Steam Engine. Using a captured GWR Praire 2-6-2 Tank Engine, the German occupation forces would use armoured trains to protect the rail network from English terrorists (partizans) and important trains (carrying the ReichsMarshal of Great Britain for example).

Normally it would push a flat wagon with 40mm AT weapon on it and other wagons would include Flak wagons and heavy machine guns.

Actually I can’t remember purchasing the Dapol plastic kit, building it or even painting it!

Forgeworld Imperial City Walls

This is the Forgeworld Imperial City Walls from the Forgeworld Display at GamesDay 2005.

You can see this is a huge piece of scenery, those are long barreled autocannons on the walls.

The entrance is certainly imposing and an Imperial BaneBlade can fit through those doors.

I do like this, but is it worth £625? Well from what I have heard they have been flying off the *shelves* at Forgeworld. This model took something like twelve days to make and paint.

I want two!

Ork with Rokkit Launcher Conversion

I have made some more progress on my Ork with Rokkit Launcher Conversion.

I have painted the *uniform* in Codex Grey. I have drybrushed the base with white paint and I have added some detailing.

Still some more work to do.

The conversion uses a standard shoota with a grenade from the Stormtroopers set stuck in the end.

Epic Bowelburnaz

I have now virtually finished my Epic Bowelburnaz.

Following an ink and paint wash, they were drybrushed with the base coat.

Some had a further drybrushing with a lighter shade.

Two have been converted using turrets from Ork Battlefortresses.

They need their undersides painted (they have been merely placed on their bases). I also want to add some more detailing as well.

Xbox 360

I had a chance today to see the Xbox 360 in action today, available for testing at two games stores. I don’t normally play video games much (I have an original PlayStation with Bubble Bobble).

I was very impressed with the graphics.

The gameplay on Need for Speed was quite good, though again the graphics were impressive.

I also saw call of duty which looked great, but I didn’t get a chance to play.

I can see why people queued up for them (and are willing to pay over the odds on eBay).
