Having started painting the Grot Bomb I drybrushed the launch, first with Tin Bitz and then with Boltgun Metal.
I also gave the bike part of the Wartrakk a basecoat of Tausept Ochre.

Ork StormBoyz from my Ork army moving across the battlefield, a ruined Imperial city. They have the nickname “the lipstick boyz”.

I am continuing to work on my Ork Aircraft Traktor and having undercoated the launch trolley with a black undercoat I went to work on painting it.
I gave the plane carrying trailer/launcher a drybrush of Tin Bitz. I then gave the model a heavy drybrush of Boltgun Metal. I then added a lot of rust using Chestnut Ink mixed with some Blazing Orange to remove the gloss from the ink.
The Ork Fighter Bommer sits on this trolley.
At GamesDay 2006 there were a fair few demonstration games. One such game featured an Ork settlement under attack from the Imperial Guard.

GameDay Germany 2009 had very little “new stuff” which hadn’t been seen before. However on display on the Forge World stand were some new models (and the Flakk Wagon).
One new impressive model was the Ork Big Trakk with Kill Kannon.
We have not seen this model before, but it was obviously built upon from the Ork Trukk concepts from the Forge World Open Day.
Does make me wonder if this is a complete resin kit, or if it still makes use of the plastic Ork Trukk kit. I would suspect the former.
Nice model.

One new model was the Ork Trukk with Big Lobba.
The Big Lobba had been seen at the Forge World Open Day 2009, and though various Ork Trukk concepts had also been seen, this one hadn’t. It has a new cab and rear section.
Now this is something which was mentioned in the instructions for the Ork Half Trakk about combining the Half Trakk chassis with different Forge World kits (which at the time I thought, what Forge World kits). It is obvious to me that you could combine the new parts of the trukk above with the Half Trakk chassis.
Also in that picture in the foreground are some new grots, ammo runts and grot riggers.

I have ordered and received an Ork Battlewagon Upgrade Pack.
I have mainly purchased this as I prefer the look of the Deff-Rolla over the included front “prow” on the Battlewagon.
Not sure on what I will use the Killcannon, but may make a base for it and place it in the back of a Trukk or a Battlewagon.

This is the third of my trio of Ork Killa Kans.
Originally I had planned to have a colour body, so the main body of the Killa Kan had a white undercoat as seen in the workbench feature.
Well as I started to paint it I knew that it wasn’t going to work and it wouldn’t look right. Maybe okay if it was a single Killa Kan, but in my squadron of three it was going to look odd. So I stopped painting the colour, let it dry and then went over the area with Chaos Black before drybrushing it.
This stage was to add some more detailing including painting the Ork glyphs.
I have blogged about the base previously.

Here is an Imperial Guard Engineers conversion from Simon’s collection.
These conversions were made, probably about ten years ago.
It’s the hull from a Deathstrike Missile Launcher with the “claw” from an Ork Battlewagon.
From a fluff perspective, it can be easily imagined that an Ork army overtook an Imperial Guard tank factory and utilised many of the components including cranes on their own tanks and battlewagons.
Of course calling it an AVRE is a bit of a misnomer as I guess the Imperial Guard don’t have Royal Engineers, or do they?
