Ork Stompa

Very much like the old Epic model.
Scratchbuilt Ork Stompa from GamesDay 2008.

Forge World’s big Ork tank mounts a huge gun ready to take on any Imperial BaneBlade or even Titan.
Having fixed the sides, the next stage was the top of the superstructure and the turrets.
The engine was added to the rear.
The main armament was added to the front. This was another piece that I thought didn’t fit too well.
Still one mean looking Ork warmachine.

Having built the chassis, the next stage was the superstructure. This didn’t quite fit as well as I thought it should.
There were a fair few gaps. However with a model such as this, the gaps were less obvious than would be on an Imperial model.
After fitting the sides, the Doza Blade was added.
This is one big tank.

This is quite an easy model to put together.
The tracks were quite warped, however by immersing them in hot water it was straightforward to fix them to the suspension.
Unlike the Kil Krusha or the Big Trakk the tracks for the Kil Bursta were much easier to fit.
I do like the look of this model, the ramshackle thrown together look.
It does go well together.
The main engine is suitably Orky.
The front and rear hull was added to the model.
The parts fitted quite well.

The first job was to wash the resin before construction. I then started to fix the wheels to the main chassis.

The Kill Bursta mounts a huge-bore Kannon capable of destroying bunkers and siegeworks with ease.
As with the Kill Krusha you do get a lot of resin.
The tracks were quite warped, nothing that a little hot water wouldn’t fix. I really like the commander figure.

Forge World’s 2010 Show Only model was an Ork Runt Bot and Grot.

This fantastic figure, designed by Mark Bedford, is our exclusive Event-Only figure for 2010. Meks are always keen to test their bionik designs on the battlefield, and if no suitable ‘patients’ are available they will build a Runt Bot; a huge, clanking parody of an Ork warrior powered by a rumbling engine and directed into battle by a plucky Grot, who will be provided with a ‘kontrol pad’ for the mechanical warrior. This finely detailed and striking vignette depicts the Grot controller perched precariously on the shoulder of the Runt Bot, wrestling with the joystick in an effort to direct the shearing claws of the monstrosity. This great miniature can be used to represent a Warboss with the Bionic Body upgrade, a Nob in Mega-Armour, or simply as a centrepiece or painting project.
Really nice model and I bought one at GamesDay 2010.
Before I got started, I washed all the resin pieces.
Quite a fiddly looking model really.
As for rules? Well there aren’t any official rules, so I will probably use this as a Killa Kan. Tempted by another option to use it as an Ork in Mega Armour.
Killa Kan from GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.
The new plastic Killa Kans are really nice models and I like them a lot, they are much better than the metal versions. I have been working on three of them and you can read how far I have got on my workbench feature on them.
