Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor basecoat

I have added more of the Repressor basecoat.

I used the Citadel Foundation Paint, Tausept Ochre.

At this point the Dozer Blade is not attached and will be glued on once the model has been painted fully.

Imperial Guard Malcador Heavy Tank

Imperial Guard Malcador Heavy Tank
Imperial Guard Malcador Heavy Tank

Named after a mysterious figure from the Imperium’s earliest days, Malcador the Sigillite (-a close advisor to the Emperor during the Battles of Unification, and the man credited with founding the Administratum of Terra), the tank is a mobile fortress, heavily armed and armoured but slow. Mounting multiple heavy bolters for all-round defence, side-sponson weapons and a demolisher cannon in a limited-traverse hull mount.

In a limited release, Games Workshop are re-releasing Space Hulk.
Space Hulk

From the depths of space an ancient vessel drifts slowly towards the Imperium of Mankind – a space hulk. Within its confines, untold thousands of Genestealers slowly emerge from hibernation. The Space Marines must enter the cramped corridors and tomb-like chambers of the ancient ship to defeat this alien menace.
Space Hulk is a board game for two players, recreating the battles fought between the Space Marines and Genestealers. One player commands the Space Marines as they carry out deadly missions in the ancient Space Hulk, and the other commands the horde of Genestealers opposing them. Space Hulk’s fast-paced rules simulate the tense atmosphere of a mission deep inside the cramped confines of a derelict space hulk, where split-second decisions are needed for victory.
This boxed game contains: a 23-page Rulebook, a 47-page Mission book and 35 finely-detailed, plastic Citadel miniatures, including: 11 Space Marine Terminators, one Space Marine Terminator Librarian, 22 Genestealers, and one Broodlord.

Space Hulk Terminator

Also included are: 105 gaming counters, 24 corridors, 10 rooms, eight crossroads, eight T-junctions, six corner sections, four dead ends, four end pieces, 20 doors with plastic stands, one mission status display, and three plastic mission objectives, including: a dead Space Marine on throne, a Blood Angels artefact and a Cyber-Altered Task Unit. Plus a sand timer and five bone-coloured dice unique to this game.

I was never that into Space Hulk, I have never bought the game in its earlier incarnations. Not to say I have never played, however a few games.
I am considering a purchase, but I suspect I won’t. What about you, are you going to buy a copy?

Ork Big Trakk with Kill Kannon

GameDay Germany 2009 had very little “new stuff” which hadn’t been seen before. However on display on the Forge World stand were some new models (and the Flakk Wagon).

One new impressive model was the Ork Big Trakk with Kill Kannon.

Ork Big Trakk with Kill Kannon

We have not seen this model before, but it was obviously built upon from the Ork Trukk concepts from the Forge World Open Day.

FW Open Day

Does make me wonder if this is a complete resin kit, or if it still makes use of the plastic Ork Trukk kit. I would suspect the former.

Nice model.

One new model was the Ork Trukk with Big Lobba.

Ork Trukk with Big Lobba

The Big Lobba had been seen at the Forge World Open Day 2009, and though various Ork Trukk concepts had also been seen, this one hadn’t. It has a new cab and rear section.

Now this is something which was mentioned in the instructions for the Ork Half Trakk about combining the Half Trakk chassis with different Forge World kits (which at the time I thought, what Forge World kits). It is obvious to me that you could combine the new parts of the trukk above with the Half Trakk chassis.

Also in that picture in the foreground are some new grots, ammo runts and grot riggers.

Grey Knights Razorback basecoat

If you have looked at my Grey Knights Landspeeder you will realise that I am attempting to paint a Grey Knights force which goes beyond the listings in the DaemonHunters Codex. What I am trying to do is to create a Grey Knights force (using the Space Marine Codex) and then using a DaemonHunters force as allies.

Having constructed my Razorback and added Grey Knights iconography I gave the model a black undercoat. The next stage was the basecoat and for that I am using the Tausept Ochre Foundation Paint as a basecoat. So why is it brown? I blogged about this back in 2007.

The next stage will be adding more of the basecoat.
