Land Raider Proteus

The Land Raider is regarded by many as the finest armoured fighting vehicle of its class in the Imperium’s arsenal, and is the mainstay battle tank of the Space Marine Legions.

It is a phenomenally powerful war machine, its multi-layered composite armour and reinforced hull all but impervious to even heavy weapons, being a sealed unit designed to resist enemy attack from any approach.

Intended to serve in almost any environment as both war machine and exploration vehicle, it can operate freely in war zones ranging from acid swamps to rad-deserts without any noticeable impediment to its performance, and can even operate in hard vacuum, ensuring there is no open battlefield on which its armoured wrath cannot be unleashed.

This is an Ultramarines Land Raider Proteus.

Those of us who have been playing Warhammer 40K since it was first released will recognise this model. It is of course a new version of the original Land Raider that was released back in 1987 following the release of the 1st edition of Warhammer 40,000, Rogue Trader. Forge World released a resin version a fair few years ago, and since then, a plastic version of the kit has been released as part of The Horus Heresy range.

Deimos Pattern Rhino

This World Eaters Deimos Pattern Rhino was on display at Warhammer World.

The Deimos Pattern Rhino Armoured Personnel Carrier is a versatile and heavily armoured vehicle employed by both side of the Legiones Astartes during the Horus Heresy.

An Imperial Fists Rhino.

It is designed to transport troops safely into combat zones while providing them with substantial firepower.

The Rhino’s thick armour and robust construction make it highly resistant to enemy fire, ensuring the protection of its occupants. Equipped with a variety of weapons, including heavy bolters and lascannons, the Rhino is capable of engaging infantry and light vehicles with devastating effect.

The vehicle’s spacious interior can accommodate a squad of Space Marines, along with their equipment and supplies. The Deimos Pattern Rhino is a reliable and durable workhorse, capable of operating in the most challenging environments.

Legion Sky-Hunter Jetbike

Sky-hunters are feared strike units, mounted atop sophisticated and powerful jetbikes.

These high-speed craft are more akin to compact aircraft than ground bikes – propelled across the battlefield by jet engines with grav-impellor assistance, they can maintain great speeds for extended periods of low-altitude flight.

The jetbike’s lift-strength is enough to carry an armoured Space Marine and his wargear along with a variety of heavy weapons mounts and stocks of ammunition, giving the Sky-hunters access to extremely potent, highly mobile firepower.

Mastodon Heavy Assault Transport

Its cavernous assault bay, capable of housing almost half a Company, is protected both by thick layers of ceramite armour as well as crackling void shields.

It also mounts a fearsome siege melta array, allowing it to breach even the most formidable defences with ease, as well as an array of secondary weaponry intended to defend the vehicle as it approaches its target.

Unleashed only against the most fearsome of enemy redoubts, there are few obstacles that can stay the wrath of this relic of the Imperium’s bloody birth.

The Mastodon is heavily armed and armoured, carrying 40 Space Marines, and even Dreadnoughts, safely to the heart of battle.

Whilst embarked, the warriors within will defend their immense transport, turning the sponson weapons on any enemy brave or foolish enough to come close.

It’s Siege melta array can easily destroy fortifications, and makes short work of armoured vehicles, whilst its Skyreaper Battery will tear through any airborne threat with ease.

Fellblade Super Heavy Tank

The Fellblade Super Heavy Tank is a behemoth of the Legiones Astartes, a testament to their unwavering resolve and technological prowess. This imposing war machine is a towering fortress on tracks, its hull clad in thick, nigh-impenetrable armour that can shrug off even the most devastating artillery strikes. Its main armament is a devastating twin-linked siege cannon, capable of hurling massive shells with enough force to obliterate entire squads of infantry or even lighter vehicles in a single salvo.

To complement its firepower, the Fellblade is also equipped with a battery of heavy bolters and a pair of twin-linked lascannons, providing devastating anti-infantry and anti-vehicle capabilities. The Fellblade’s crew is protected by a multi-layered armour system and a reinforced cockpit, ensuring their survival even in the most intense combat.

This formidable war machine is a symbol of the Legiones Astartes’ relentless pursuit of dominance, a testament to their unwavering loyalty to the Emperor and their unwavering dedication to the cause of the Imperium. Then again, it is also a symbol of those Legions which betrayed the emperor.

Imperial Fists Fellblade Super Heavy Tank

The Fellblade is based upon the same STC data as the Baneblade super-heavy tank, which is extensively used by the Imperial Guard. The Fellblade is a more advanced variant that first saw widespread service with the Legiones Astartes in the last decades of the Great Crusade.

It is most noted for its use of Mechanicum atomantic arc-reactor technology and a reinforced metaplas alloy chassis superior with an advanced accelerator cannon as its primary armament. These systems are Dark Age technologies rediscovered and restored to humanity shortly before the nightmare of the Great Heresy.

Imperial Fists Astraeus Super-Heavy Tank

This Imperial Fists Astraeus was part of the Assault on Zybos diorama at Warhammer World.

The Astraeus is a super-heavy tank, similar in form to the smaller Repulsor transport in use by the newly created Primaris Space Marines. It mounts a formidable array of weapons, designed around a pair of immense macro-accelerator cannon. Providing a stable firing platform for these temperamental weapons are banks of enhanced repulsor plates, allowing the inexorable advance of the Astraeus to continue unhindered by hostile terrain or the vain defiance of the foe, while its layered void shields can shrug off even the most devastating weapon strikes.

Imperial Fists Leviathan Siege Dreadnought

This Imperial Fists Leviathan Siege Dreadnought was part of The Fall Of Outpost Sigma-12 diorama at Warhammer World.

Heavily-armed and impressively armoured, the Leviathan Siege Dreadnought is an alternative development of the highly successful Contemptor design. These rare and mighty engines are prized by Astartes commanders, recognised as savagely powerful siege and hunter-killer units that can crush any opposition with an unstoppable wrecking charge.

Yet such overwhelming strength comes at a cost – a Leviathan’s systems place an onerous and ultimately lethal strain upon its occupant, the entombed incumbent burning brightly but only briefly in their second life

Imperial Fists Leviathan Siege Dreadnought

The ranged weapons of the Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnought were designed to be used at closer range than those carried by most classes of dreadnought. The Leviathan Grav-flux Bombard creates a spiralling vortex of gravitation-torsion force. It is a fortress-breaching weapon which can reduce the toughest armour to twisted scrap and crush anything living beyond recognition.

This Deredeo Dreadnought: Anvilus Configuration was on display at Warhammer World.

The Deredeo pattern Dreadnought is a dedicated heavy support frame, though it shares many core components and systems with the more general assault-based Contemptor class.

Initially deployed in limited numbers to each of the Legions due to difficulties in its manufacture, its durability and firepower saw demand for the Deredeo pattern dramatically increase after the outbreak of the Horus Heresy.

The Mastodon was one of the heaviest assault transports in the arsenal of the Legiones Astartes during the Great Crusade, and is still found in the armouries of the Space Marine Chapters of the 41st Millenium. This Imperial Fists Kratos Heavy Assault Tank was on display at Warhammer World.

The Kratos Heavy Assault Tank is based on an Ancient Terran pattern fielded during the Unification of Old Earth, redesigned after the Emperor’s treaty with the Lords of Mars to serve as the spearhead of the Great Crusade, a line-breaker and foe hammer. This grinding battle tank is all but impervious to enemy fire, and its steady, inexorable advance provides an indomitable core to any assault by the Legiones Astartes, enforced by a barrage of overwhelming firepower.
