Urban Basing Kit
There are some gaming things I buy which I later think, why on earth did I buy that! Then there are gaming things I buy which I now wish I had bought at least five times rather than just the once!
One of those things is the Urban Basing Kit which was released as part of Cities of Death. The box set contains 2 pots of slate, 2 pots of resin details and 1 pot of razorwire that can be used to decorate the bases of your miniatures or cityfight buildings. It was a limited edition and though since then Games Workshop have released a Warhammer 40k Basing Kit, personally I don’t think it is as good as the original urban basing kit.
I would have bought five, but they were very difficult to get hold of, and when I did find them, the shop only had one left…
One of the urban bases I have made using the kit was given (as per my Ork bases) a base coat of Codex Grey.

Space Marine Whirlwind
There were some wonderful armies on display at GamesDay 2007. This Whirlwind was from a really nice Space Marine army.

Ork Battlewagon with Supa-Kannon
On display at the Forge World Open Day was an Ork Battlewagon with a Supa-Kannon.
This comprises various parts as a conversion kit (not sure if it will be available as a complete model).
As well as the new GW Battlewagon, I would have thought this would fit on the original Forge World Battlewagon too.

This is referred to by Forge World as a Supa-Kannon.
In the Ork Codex there is an upgrade for the Battlewagon which is called the KillKannon. Now is this a different weapon with different stats? At the moment we don’t know, but as a conversion kit for the KillKannon it would appear to fit the bill.
Also at the Open Day were various sketches one of which looks interesting with a Battlewagon with a huge rocket.
Looks like there is going to be some interesting new Ork stuff from Forge World.
Starting the Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor basecoat
Having finished building my Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor and added lots of symbology I gave the model a black undercoat.
The next stage was to start the basecoat. I used the Citadel Foundation Paint, Tausept Ochre.
At this point the Dozer Blade is not attached and will be glued on once the model has been painted fully.

Imperial Guard Regimental Advisors
There are some really nice Imperial Guard releases in May from Games Workshop. As well as the nice plastic Valkyrie, one other release is looking like a possible purchase, the Imperial Guard Regimental Advisors.
The commander of an Imperial Guard army is assisted by a host of orderlies, adjutants, aides de camps and specialist advisors from outside the regiment who are able to liaise with other elements of the battle group.
This blister contains three metal Imperial Guard Advisors, including: an Officer of the Fleet, a Master of Ordinance and an Astropath.
I am thinking they might make good characters for the Warhammer 40K role-playing game or as part of an Inquisitorial retinue.
Ork Flakk Wagon at the Forge World Open Day
We first saw the Forge World Ork Flakk Wagon at GamesDay 2008, still no sign of it been available now. It was on show at the Forge World Open Day 2009.
Still looking good. Wondering though when it will become available?

Grey Knights Land Raider
At GamesDay 2006 there were a fair few demonstration games, in this game, Grey Knights battle Chaos Renegades. Here is a Grey Knights (or possibly an Inquisitorial) Land Raider.

Planet of the Dead
I really enjoyed the Doctor Who special that was on over Easter.
A London bus takes a detour to an alien world, but can the Doctor defeat the terrifying Swarm?
A really good episode with some good characters, an alien world, UNIT and a London bus!
Some good gaming ideas as well, what about UNIT versus the swarm? UNIT now seem to have some cool hardware like this weapons system.
Of course they have had the Valiant as well in this series.
Now I just need to find some suitable models.
Nurgle Daemon Prince
Another new(ish) miniature on display at the Forge World Open Day was the Nurgle Daemon Prince.
A vile (in game terms) model, well sculptured and well painted.
