Grey Knights Jetbike

The greatest threat to the Imperium of Man is, and has always been, the followers of Chaos and the foul daemons of the Warp. The Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus, the Daemonhunters, are at war with forces too terrible to comprehend and, together with the holy warriors of the Grey Knights, they must take the light of the Emperor into the darkness. The threat of the daemonic is so great that only these heroic warriors have the necessary skills and knowledge to stand against such diabolical foes.

When the Dark Angels were released I really liked the Master of the Ravenwing on the “last” remaining Imperial Jetbike.

Master Sammael of the Ravenwing is a true Angel of Death. From the saddle of his jetbike he cuts down any foolish enough to stand in his path with the infamous Raven Sword, its blade cut from the same meteorite as the Sword of Secrets. A highly accomplished hunter of The Fallen, Sammael is rightly honoured by his brethren and he is feared by his foes as few other holders of his rank have ever been.

So much so I knew I had to get one for my Grey Knights army, possibly maybe more than one!  If anyone other than the Master of the Ravenwing was going to have arcane technology it would be the Grey Knights!

This is as far as I have got putting the jetbike together.

Undercoating the Grey Knights Land Raider

Grey Knights can use Land Raiders, when I first started putting this force together I knew that if I was going to get a Land Raider it would have to be the Forge World MkIIB Land Raider.

However I was also lucky enough to receive a second Land Raider as a present. It was the Terminus model, however I decided to build it as a standard Land Raider.

Having made the model I gave it a black undercoat.

I kept the weapons as separate assemblies, I would also be adding the tracks later too.

Now I made a mistake when I ordered my Mark IIb Land Raider, you get a set of doors and I (foolishly) asked them to replace the supplied eagle doors with Grey Knights Land Raider doors. Now what I didn’t realise was that the side doors on the sponson are not the same size as the Land Raider doors, but are in fact the same size as Rhino side doors. So the Grey Knight doors are too big! However this meant I could use them on this new Land Raider.

Notice how the doors are at the rear, it never made sense to me to have the main weaponry firing in the way of the side doors… so the main lascannons are at the front and the access doors at the rear.

Grey Knights Land Raider

I made up two possible variations on the frontal weaponry including Heavy Bolters and Lascannons.

Grey Knights Razorback basecoat

If you have looked at my Grey Knights Landspeeder you will realise that I am attempting to paint a Grey Knights force which goes beyond the listings in the DaemonHunters Codex. What I am trying to do is to create a Grey Knights force (using the Space Marine Codex) and then using a DaemonHunters force as allies.

Having constructed my Razorback and added Grey Knights iconography I gave the model a black undercoat. The next stage was the basecoat and for that I am using the Tausept Ochre Foundation Paint as a basecoat. So why is it brown? I blogged about this back in 2007.

The next stage will be adding more of the basecoat as you can see this side still needs work.

Grey Knight Terminator with Psycannon

One of my Christmas presents (from last year) was a Grey Knight Terminator with a Psycannon.

The model went together very nicely. I used Citadel sand on the base and resin and slate from the Warhammer 40000 Basing Kit. I then gave the model a black undercoat.

The next stage will be a basecoat of Boltgun Metal.
