Finishing off the Dystopian Wars Arminius Class Frigates

The Dystopian Wars is a miniatures games from Spartan Games. The Prussian Frigate is a simple ship with a single turret and aft Tesla weapons.

Having given the models a wash of Citadel Shade: Nuln Oil, I then gave them a light drybrush.

I think if I was to paint them again, I might paint the decks a tan colour so that it looked like wood.

As you can see from this photograph, there is still some touching up to do, where they were glued to the stick.

Dystopian Wars: Prussian Empire Blucher Class Dreadnought

Having washed the decks of the Prussian Empire Blucher Class Dreadnought the next stage was to give he rest of the model and hull a wash of Citadel Shade: Nuln Oil.

After that I gave the model a light drybrush.

This is the Prussian Empire Blucher Class Dreadnought alongside two Arminius Class Frigates.

Pleased with how the model turned out. It still could do with some more detailing and markings, but at this time I can certainly use this in a game.

15mm Ruined Shop with Passage

Though not quite where I want the 15mm Ruined Shop with Passage, I wanted to check that the process I was planning or my 15mm buildings was going to look effective, so I gave the ruined end of the model a a wash of Citadel Shade: Agrax Earthshade.

I am quite pleased with the end result with using the wash, the roof tiles look a lot better, as I did that that the Terracotta was a little too bright when I first painted the roof that colour.

Robot Mummy

Back in the 1990s Harlequin Miniatures produced a licensed range of 28mm metal miniatures  and I bought back a few of the blisters, including the robot mummy.

The Robot Mummy in the TV series was quite an aged light brown colour, certainly not white.

I gave the four models I had, after undercoating, a basecoat of Vallejo Ivory (918).

After that I brushed over the models a watered down brown wash.

This was to “age” the bandages.

Drybrushing the Steam Tank

After “washing” the Victorian Science Fiction Steam Tank from Ironclad Miniatures I gave it a relatively light drybrush.

I used a combination of Vallejo Middlestone and a mix of Middlestone (882) and Ivory (918), and a large brush.

Now a side view.

Here is the Steam Tank alongside a Foundry Gunfighter.

Washing the Steam Tank

The main part of the Ironclad Miniatures Victorian Science Fiction Steam Tank model was then given a wash of Citadel Shade: Agrax Earthshade.

There are some quite large flat blank areas on the model, as a result the wash hasn’t worked as well as I would have liked. However these areas will be slightly covered with the tracks and the turret.

Imperial Guard Catachan Jungle Fighter Sniper

When I was planning my Daemonhunters army, I wanted a sniper. However I didn’t really like the Vindicare model, so decided to order the Imperial Guard Catachan Jungle Fighter Sniper and use that as a Vindicare Assassin with Exitus Rifle.

I have to say, when I compared the model to the Cadian Kasrkin I used for the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers I was slightly disappointed. It lacked the finesse and quality of the Kasrkin models. If I was going to start again, I would probably use the Cadian Sniper models.
