I have painted another couple of my Epic Forgeworld Ork Gunwagons.
I am not too sure about these. Checks are something I have not tried before. The gunner is from a metal Ork buggy.

This limited edition from Citadel in the 1980s became very rare as they withdrew it very quickly from sale.
I painted the fuel tank in Soviet colours as the painted model in White Dwarf at the time had its fuel tank painted with the stars and stripes and I didn’t think I could get the lines straight.
It is probably now one of my favourite models of all time and I now wish I had not sold it on eBay a few years back…
It should be noted that this was in fact a fantasy model and pre Warhammer 40K…hence the wooden wheel, though the back wheel was from a Judge Dredd model.
The beauty of Orks is that there is no need for consistency and sometimes a mistake turns out really well.
I painted one of the Gunwagons in Bleached Bone, expecting the dark wash to add a nice touch, however it contained too much Chestnut ink so it looked awful wet. However when it dried it just looked great, really rusty.
It’s the one on the left…
With a final drybrush to tone down the wash and accentuate the detail…
I have finished my Forgeworld Epic Ork Bommerz.
I did think about adding some more detail and glyphs, but thought at this small scale it may not work well, and I was pleased with the models as is. I have some metal conversions hanging around which I may try some yellow flames on.
I probably will get some more of these models.
Dynamic Dioramas has some photographs of some amazing dioramas with a lot of attention to detail.
Well worth a look.
Got hold of the last paper based issue of Fanatic Magazine as from now on it is an online magazine.
Issue #10 is similar to the previous issues with ample enough content for the other games but never enough for a single game (and it doesn’t matter which game you play).
This issue we look at the Thorian faction in Inquisitor and the Scavvy gangs leave their mark on your games of Necromunda. There are also new rules for Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic, Epic Armageddon and Mordheim.
Some nice pics in #10 of Epic stuff though.
Still missing issue #8 though…
