Here is a photograph of a Vostroyan Imperial Guard Baneblade from the display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

I do like the paint job on this model.

Tonight (and part two tomorrow night) sees the new interpretation of The Day of the Triffids. I mentioned this back in November 2008 and quoted the BBC back then saying:
The drama, about menacing plants taking over the world, will be shown in two feature-length episodes next year.
Well, here we are in the final week of “next year” and the drama is on this week!
I think that there is quite a bit of gaming potential with The Day Of The Triffids, small groups of survivors trying to get past hordes of triffids. Even groups of survivors fighting each other over food caches.
Might try and think of some rules and look for models.
I have been making some of the Forge World models I got at GamesDay 2009. I think I need a different superglue as the one I am using. The Loctite Precision sounds like it should be good, but basically it takes too long to dry… which is not why I use superglue!
Need to find a different glue. Don’t like Games Workshop superglue as when I tried it, after a couple of sessions using it, it became impossible to open!

To be honest I have not read any fan websites out there or even much of the official coverage, however I do have the following prediction to make about the end of and beginning of Doctor Who.
My prediction is… well select (highlight) the text below to see what it is.
My prediction is that we see the Doctor go back in time to the beginning of his life. A kind of reboot for Doctor Who.
Why?
Well first we see the return of the Time Lords which is a bit of a reboot!
Secondly look at William Hartnell’s TARDIS from the 1960s…

Now look at Matt Smith’s TARDIS.

Compare that to David Tennant’s TARDIS.

Notice that Matt’s and William’s TARDIS have the same white windows.
Well not long now to find out for sure…. though we might have to wait until April!
At GamesDay 2006 there were a fair few demonstration games. Many games featured the new buildings for Cities of Death.

Back in 2004 at the UK GamesDay, Forge World were showing off some new Epic miniatures, an Ork Battlewagon and a Gargantuan Squiggoth.

At this point lots of new Epic Ork stuff was coming out from Forge World and we expected to see lots and lots…
Little did we know that five years later, it would be 40K Ork stuff that would see the light of day and (Ork aircraft excepted) we would see virtually no new Epic Ork vehicles.
Will Epic rise again? Probably not, which is a pity.
Happy Christmas to all our readers.

Nice surprise from Games Workshop this morning, sneak peeks of new models including this interesting and exciting Ork Deff Dread.

Wonder what it looks like in its entirety?
