Grot Cutta

I have drybrushed by Grtot Cutta, first with a heavy drubrush of Tin Bitz, followed by a lighter drybrush of Boltgun Metal.

I will then be painting the mast and boom a dark brown.

As you will notice this model is “different” to the standard Grot Cutta in that the rear wheels are the Heavy Gunz style wheels rather than the tyres which came with the model.

I have noted that this model sells quite well on eBay, as do the other models from the Gorkamorka range. I would still like to try and get a Grot Lugga as I quite like that model.

Imperial Guard Basilisk

This is a model of the Imperial Guard Basilisk Armageddon Pattern, from the collection of my friend Simon.

It is an Imperial Guard Basilisk Armageddon Pattern with extra stowage and a muzzle brake. It has a very detailed and well painted interior.

Simon took a range of photographs of the painting process and I hope to have a workbench feature on this model in the near future.

Warhammer 40K Fourth Edition First Games

Today I have my first two games of Warhammer 40K using the new fourth edition rules.

The first was a small infantry bash to try out the shooting and assault rules.

I did lose, but then I only had sixteen Orks and I was facing thirty Imperial Guard.

The rules seem a little clearer, but somethings are missing like weapon stats for the Orks (which are not all in the Codex) such as the Shoota. The newer Codicies such as the Imperial Guard do contain all the weapon stats.

The second game was the same Orks versus Imperial Guard, but the Guard had a Basilisk and a Demolisher, whilst I reinforced the Orks with a Squiggoth, two Killa Kans, a Trukk, a Wartrakk and a Grot Bomb Launcha. I got within 10″ of the Imperial Guard before the final shot was fired (and this included reviving a shot Squiggoth and allowing the Grot Bomb Launcha to reload…

Warhammer 40K Rulebook

The newest edition of Warhammer 40000 is now out in the shops in the UK and I now have my copy.

Costing £30, the 288 page rulebook is a massive tome and I was pleased to see it was a hardback edition – my previous edition was paperback!

Unlike previous editions, this is a more an update on the previous version rather than a whole new version. In theory previous codices will still “work” with the new rules.

Grot Cutta

I originally bought this model for my Flintloque army.

It is a Gorkamorka Grot Cutta.

I am intending to use it with my Warhammer 40K Ork army as an alternative buggy.

The model originally came with two rear rubber tires, I decided (as it was a fantasy napoleonic army) to use the WH40K metal wheels. I have kept them as I think it looks better that way.

New Rulebook Out
