I am starting some new Ork Airfield Defence Vehicles.
They are based on the Epic40K Ork Flakwagons.
One them will be a fuel bowser.
warhammer, wh40k, flames of war, bolt action, aeronautica imperialis, star wars, models, news, views and stuff
I saw yesterday in the flesh as it were the Dragon 1/144 German 60cm Mortar kit.
This has real potential for a conversion into an Epic type vehicle.
I also think the armoured train stuff has potential too.
Not badly priced either the Mortar can be found for £6.99.
At the beginning of March I mentioned that GW were releasing a limited edition Witch Hunter model that would only be sold in the stores on the 2nd and 3rd April.
Well I didn’t think I was going to get one, but I was on my way over to Simon’s for a game of Space Hulk and stopped off at the GW store and picked one up.
It is a very nice model and is based on the Witch Hunter model that is available in the boxed set, but has a different weapon (plasma pistol) and is pointing rather than holding a sword.
Personally I think it is a better model.
Now do I paint it, or do I keep it and sell it on eBay in a few years time (or does everyone do that).
Rules are in White Dwarf #304.
I have worked some more on my Landa.
First I added a base coat of Desert Yellow.
I then painted various panels different shades of brown, light and dark.
I then gave it a light wash of watered down Chestnut Ink with some Bestial Brown in.
As you can see I still have a few white holes in the “rivets” where both the original base coat and wash failed to penetrate.
The next stage is to drybrush out the gloss of the ink wash and fill in those holes.
Though Chris is quitting there is some good news in that there will be a second series.
I have made a little bit of progress with my Landa.
I have blacked out all the metal parts and then drybrushed with Tin Bitz.
In this close-up shot you can see the detail in the sculpturing, though some of those *rivets* would be a few feet wide!
Having drybrushed with Tin Bitz, a light drybrush of Boltgun Metal to bring out the metal parts.
Another view.
The next stage is to paint it in Desert Yellow.
…well Chris does.
It would appear that Christoper Eccleston has announced he is quitting Doctor Who.
According to the BBC, Actor Christopher Eccleston has quit as Doctor Who after just one episode of the new series has been screened, the BBC has confirmed. Eccleston, whose first appearance as the ninth Time Lord attracted around 10 million viewers, feared being typecast.
I can see why, but why? One season, why not after two? Peter Davison always seemed to do okay.
Ah well.
