Red Dawn Trailer

Now we can see the full Red Dawn trailer.

I have to admit I enjoyed the original Red Dawn movie when it came out in 1984 and do rewatch it now and again.

The remake has been in the works for a fair few years now, same basic storyline as the 1984 movie, but this time no Russians or Cubans, now we have Chinese, sorry now it’s North Korean, invaders. They were going to be Chinese, but the movie makers realised that if they did that then they would be unable to show it in the China market and that’s a lot of potential tickets and money.

King Tiger

In the process of sorting some old gaming stuff out I found a bundle of old SDD models. These are 15mm metal castings that I bought back in the 1990s. It makes me think that the other metal models that I have been painting are also SDD.

This box was mainly late war stuff and included a King Tiger.

The model consists of four parts: a pair of tracks, the hull and a turret. This is a very nice clean casting, but is quite a heavy model as a result.

Doctor Who: Asylum of the Daleks, teaser trailer

BBC have a new teaser trailer for Doctor Who out.

Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission – to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter… the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Pond’s marriage.

Epic Ork Warbikes

Here is a band of Epic Ork Warbikes.

Epic Ork Warbikes

I was never a real fan of the plastic models, as they lacked depth and character. I did convert a model attaching an Ork Nob in Mega-Armour to one of the bikes to create an Ork Warboss on a warbike.

Pity that Epic has been sidelined as I would love to see some new Forge World epic miniatures. Or even new miniatures in Finecast.

Airfix Supacat Coyote and Jackal

Airfix preview video for A06302 Supacat Coyote A05301 Supacat Jackal.

You may recall from a previous blog post that I thought they would make for really nice Imperial Guard armoured vehicles. As they are 1/48th scale they would fit very well with the 25/28mm size of the Imperial Guard. Of course with some ramshackle additions they would also make for some really nice Ork vehicles too.
