Coming soon, Mercenary Ogres

For Warhammer: The Old World you will soon be able to order (from 4 July for a week-long order period) some classic Mercenary Ogres.

No doubt drawn by the presence of exotic (if scaly) meats, a band of Mercenary Ogres is marching upon the Old World seeking fame and fortune. Or just, you know, obscene amounts of food. You’ll be able to get your hands on a set of three with great weapons, three with hand weapons, and a cheery Captain overseeing his troops. Decked out in less civilised armour and outfits than regular Imperial Ogres, they’re a great way to add more character to your Dwarfen Mountain Holds and Empire of Man armies.

The Captain is one of my favourite Citadel miniatures, and is also one I never had in my collection. Can you guess who will be clicking the order button on the 4th July.

Classic Ogres

These classic Warhammer Fantasy Ogres were on display at Warhammer World.

I always liked the ogre in the middle, with the hat with the crest and holding the sword with one hand from the top. I never did buy him though.

These are from the 1980s and are reminiscent of the miniatures I was buying back then for my Warhammer (Fantasy) armies. I never bought these, as I was buying Orcs and Dwarfs back then.

These were released way before the Ogre Kingdoms.

Overtyrant Greasus Goldtooth, or to give him his formal title, Tradelord Greasus Tribestealer Drakecrush Gatecrasher Hoardmaster Goldtooth the Shockingly Obese, is the fattest and most powerful Ogre Tyrant within the entire Ogre Kingdoms and holds the current title of Overtyrant, the Tyrant of all Ogre Tyrants.

Greasus Goldtooth

Overtyrant Greasus Goldtooth, or to give him his formal title, Tradelord Greasus Tribestealer Drakecrush Gatecrasher Hoardmaster Goldtooth the Shockingly Obese, is the fattest and most powerful Ogre Tyrant within the entire Ogre Kingdoms and holds the current title of Overtyrant, the Tyrant of all Ogre Tyrants. Greasus was one of the many whelps sired by the infamous Gofg, Tyrant of the Goldtooth Tribe. Like his brothers, Greasus grew up to become strong and fat. However, unlike his brothers, he killed and ate his own father. After assuming the Tyranthood of his tribe, and feeling the need to prove himself, Greasus demanded tithes from other kingdoms. All refused the audacious request and began baying for Greasus’ blood. Who was this upstart to demand gold and food from them? They would soon learn.
