Sisters Of Silence Kharon Pattern Acquisitor

Built to approach its targets silently and with utmost stealth, the Kharon Pattern Acquisitor is deliberately made to be a thing of mystery and terror when its presence is unveiled. Used primarily in a paramilitary role by the Sisters of Silence, it can suppress civilian resistance with lethal effect, its hellion cannon cutting through rampaging mobs and destroying makeshift barricades. Against greater threats, various payloads of missiles can be deployed, including sophisticated antipsyker warheads.

German Leopard I Main Battle Tank

This Leopard 1 was on display at the Tank Museum at Bovington.

The Leopard 1 is a main battle tank designed and produced by Porsche in West Germany that first entered service in 1965. Developed in an era when HEAT warheads were thought to make conventional heavy armour of limited value, the Leopard focused on firepower in the form of the German-built version of the British L7 105-mm gun, and improved cross-country performance that was unmatched by other designs of the era.

This is a Standardpanzer Series-0, one of two pre-production Leopards supplied to Great Britain in exchange for two Chieftains.

Gorkanaut and Morkanaut

These Gorkanaut and Morkanaut models were on display at Warhammer World.

The Gorkanaut possesses all the unsubtle brutality of Gork along with a blocky silhouette that looms menacingly over friend and foe alike. Piloted by an Ork Nob, this hulking orkoid armoured war suit is the epitome of everything an Ork aspires to be: Massive, tough, loud and destructive. The Gorkanaut’s main weapons are the deafening and deadly Deffstorm mega-shoota and the massive armoured Klaw of Gork (or possibly Mork). It is also armed with two twin-linked big shootas, two rokkit launchas and a skorcha.

The Morkanaut’s main weapon is a profusion of worky gubbinz and zappy bits known as the kustom mega-kannon. It is also armed with two twin-linked big shootas, two rokkit launchas, a kustom mega-blasta and the Klaw of Gork (or possibly Mork).

Still not entirely confident about the differences between the two, but I think that’s the point.

I have considered buying one of these for my Ork forces, but it has so far remained on that long shopping list of wants.

Ordinatus Ulator

A rare and truly arcane weapon system of staggering power, the Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator is of the smaller classes of Ordinatus, but nevertheless is one of the most potent war machines at the Imperium’s disposal.

The Ordinatus Ulator carries a trio of Volkite Culverins as its secondary armaments, but its primary weapon is the Ulator class Sonic Destructor. A terrifying weapon whose origins lie in the shadows of the Age of Strife, the Sonic Destructor generates a wave of annihilation that wreaks havoc across the battlefield.

In the time of the Great Crusade the Ordinatus macro engines were rarer than even the Battle Titans of the Legio Titanica, and only a handful of Forge Worlds had the resources or indeed the doctrinal blessing and religious authority to produce or maintain such embodiments of the Omnissiah’s divine wrath. Such was the sacredness of these machines above all others, that an entire subcult of the Mechanicum was devoted to their worship and propitiation.

T-62

The T-62 is a Soviet main battle tank that was first introduced in 1961. As a further development of the T-55 series, the T-62 retained many similar design elements of its predecessor including low profile and thick turret armour.

This ex-Iraqi T-62 was on display at Bovington.

While the T-62 became the standard tank in the Soviet arsenal, it did not fully replace the T-55 in export markets due to its higher manufacturing costs and maintenance requirements compared to its predecessor.

Sagitaur ATV

The Sagitaur is a nimble, heavily armoured ATV engineered for rapid deployment into hostile environments. Designed to accompany Hernkyn Pioneers, it excels in scouting and swift, armoured assaults.

Its robust frame, capable of withstanding the rigours of alien terrain and intense combat, makes the Sagitaur an invaluable asset for any League-sponsored colonisation effort.

This versatile vehicle is equally at home surveying uncharted worlds or leading the charge against enemy forces.

Ordinatus Aktaeus

The Ordinatus Aktaeus is part transport, part heavy-duty war machine! This engine of destruction allows you to deliver a battalion of troops right to the heart of the enemy, unleashing a deadly seismic quake to cover their advance before providing a blistering hail of supporting firepower. You’ll be able to field yours mounted upon the Ordinatus platform, or send the Aktaeus Earth-breaker into battle separately, making it incredibly flexible. Nigh-indestructible when faced with conventional weapons, it’ll make an impact on even the fiercest battlefields the Age of Darkness has to offer.

The Aktaeus is the most recognisable of the Ordinatus Minoris created and operated by the Mechanicum, a super-heavy transport designed to carve a path through the stony heart of a world to deliver its cargo of warriors to the centre of the battlefield. Known to the armies of the Emperor as the Imperial Mole, this vehicle is employed primarily as a siege engine capable of rendering even the most formidable fortifications pointless by burrowing beneath them.

Challenger 2 V5 Prototype

This Challenger 2 prototype V5 was on display at Bovington. It was one of nine built by the Vickers company in Leeds during 1989 and 1990.

At this point Challenger 2 wasn’t certain to be the British Army’s next tank. An open competition was to be held, allowing foreign designs to be submitted.

The M1A2 Abrams, Leclerc and Leopard 2 were evaluated alongside Challenger in Spring 1991.

A combination of political and military factors led to the choice of Challenger 2.

Hekaton Land Fortress

The Hekaton Land Fortress is the Leagues of Votann’s armored titan. A heavily armed transport capable of carrying 12 models, it’s a versatile and potent force on the battlefield.

This is the kind of styling and look that I was hoping we would see with the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler, alas we didn’t.

Now though I would be happy to use these as a Squat, sorry Leagues of Votann, vehicle, I wonder how it compares to human sized models to be used slightly differently. Always difficult to gauge the size of a model from a photograph and no comparative models next to it. So it was nice to see it in the flesh at Warhammer World.

Built for both overwhelming firepower and troop transport, this tank is a cornerstone of the Kin’s military might.

With its robust frame capable of carrying up to 12 models, and equipped with a fearsome array of heavy weaponry, the Hekaton is a versatile model on the battlefield.

A testament to the Kin’s engineering prowess, this formidable vehicle is as respected as it is deadly.

World Eaters Typhon Heavy Siege Tank

Named for the ‘Great Beast’ of Ancient Terran myth, the immense Typhon Heavy Siege Tank was developed by the Mechanicum alongside the Spartan, with which it shares a basic chassis design.

This World Eaters Typhon Heavy Siege Tank was on display at Warhammer World.

The Typhon’s primary armament is the massive Dreadhammer cannon, and was created in response to a request from the Primarch Peturabo, master of the Iron Warriors. He demanded a Legiones Astartes war engine that could rival the great batteries of the Imperial Crusade Army in firepower, but manoeuvre and deploy at the speed of a Space Marine force.
