Black Templars Stormhawk Interceptor

Stormhawk Interceptor
Black Templars Stormhawk Interceptor at Warhammer World

The Stormhawk Interceptor is a heavily armed air superiority fighter and gunship used by the Adeptus Astartes. It is a close relative to the Stormtalon gunship, but is more specialised for air-to-air combat. The Stormhawk is equipped with a powerful las-talon, twin assault cannons, and a skyhammer missile launcher, making it a formidable opponent for any enemy aircraft.

The Stormhawk is also highly manoeuvrable, making it an excellent dogfighter. It can easily outmanoeuvre enemy aircraft, and its powerful weapons can quickly dispatch them. The Stormhawk is also capable of operating in both void and atmospheric flight, making it a versatile asset to any Space Marine force.

When deployed in large numbers, Stormhawk squadrons can quickly overwhelm enemy air defences. They are often used in Vehemence Attack Patterns, in which they dive down on their targets at high speed, unleashing a devastating hail of fire. The Stormhawk’s golden haloes of flares are a signal that whatever planet the skies are over, they belong to the Emperor.

It is armed with a las-talon, twin assault cannons, and a skyhammer missile launcher and is protected by a layer of ablative armour.

The Stormhawk Interceptor is a powerful and versatile aircraft that is an essential asset to any Space Marine force. It is a fearsome opponent in air-to-air combat, and its ability to operate in both void and atmospheric flight makes it a valuable asset in any campaign.

Black Templars Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought

This Black Templars Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought was on display at Warhammer World.

Black Templars Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought

Redemptor Dreadnoughts are giant, powerful war machines that are used by the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines of the Imperium of Man. They are larger and more heavily armed than traditional Dreadnoughts, and they are equipped with a variety of advanced technologies that allow them to operate with surprising dexterity and speed, even though their pilots are entombed in cybernetic sarcophagi.

Redemptor Dreadnoughts are armed with a variety of powerful weapons, including a heavy flamer, an onslaught gatling cannon, and a macro plasma incinerator. These weapons can tear through enemy armour and flesh with ease, making Redemptor Dreadnoughts a fearsome sight on the battlefield.

In addition to their firepower, Redemptor Dreadnoughts are also protected by thick armour that can withstand heavy fire. This makes them ideal for spearheading assaults or holding the line against enemy attacks.

Redemptor Dreadnoughts are piloted by Astartes who have been mortally wounded in battle. These warriors are entombed in cybernetic sarcophagi that keep their bodies alive and allow them to continue fighting for the Emperor. The neural links that connect the pilot to the Dreadnought allow them to control the machine with surprising dexterity and speed, even though they are unable to move their own bodies.

Redemptor Dreadnoughts are a valuable asset to any Astartes force. They are powerful, versatile, and deadly, and they can turn the tide of any battle. Redemptor Dreadnoughts are a testament to the Adeptus Astartes’ dedication to never give up, no matter the cost. These mighty war machines are a symbol of hope for the Imperium, and they continue to fight for the Emperor even after their pilots have been mortally wounded.

Adeptus Ministorum Immolator

Adeptus Ministorum Immolator

The Immolator-pattern armoured assault transport is a heavily armoured vehicle used by the Adeptus Ministorum, the Ecclesiarchy of the Imperium of Man. It is a variant on the Rhino chassis, and is used to transport troops into battle.

The Immolator is armed with a twinned pair of heavy weapons, which can be either a pair of heavy bolters, a pair of flamers, or a pair of meltaguns. It also has a stained-armaglass ballistic shield, which protects the vehicle from incoming fire.

The Immolator is a valuable asset to any Adeptus Ministorum force. It is able to transport troops quickly and safely into battle, and its heavy weapons can provide devastating firepower.

The Immolator is also a symbol of the Adeptus Ministorum’s power and authority, and its presence on the battlefield is often enough to demoralise the enemy.

Battle of the Pelennor Fields

Witch-king of Angmar

The Battle of the Pelennor Fields was a battle for the city of Minas Tirith, and ultimately for Gondor, immediately following a large-scale siege of Minas Tirith by Sauron’s army. It was the greatest battle of the War of the Ring, and indeed the largest of the entire Third Age. Major casualties resulted from the battle, including the deaths of King Théoden and the Witch-king of Angmar.

This Lord of the Rings Battle Game diorama was on display in the entrance hall at Warhammer World.

“Real” Ultramarines Rhino

I recently visited Warhammer World, my last visit was in January 2020.

The life sized Rhino was still there guarding the entrance.

THQ, who had commissioned the Rhino for their Dawn of War video game “gave” the Rhino to Games Workshop who then gave it a repaint in Ultramarines colours.

Missing in Action

On my most recent visit to Warhammer World I noticed that the airfield, airport or Space Marine spaceport was no longer part of the exhibition.

This massive diorama was filled with Forge World Space Marine aircraft and other models.

Back then I did take some photographs of the diorama.

Though not entirely sure, I think the space now contains a Space Marine battle between the Imperial Fists and the Sons of Horus.

Land Raider Doors Stone Iconography

Grey Knights can use Land Raiders, when I first started putting this force together I knew that if I was going to get a Land Raider it would have to be the Forge World MkIIB Land Raider.

However I was also lucky enough to receive a second Land Raider as a present. It was the Terminus model, I decided though to build it as a standard Land Raider. Having made the hull I kept the weapons as separate assemblies, I would also be adding the tracks later too.

Now I made a mistake when I ordered my Mark IIb Land Raider, you get a set of doors and I (foolishly) asked them to replace the supplied eagle doors with Grey Knights Land Raider doors.

Now what I didn’t realise was that the side doors on the sponson are not the same size as the Land Raider doors, but are in fact the same size as Rhino side doors. So the Grey Knight doors are too big! However this meant I could use them on this new Land Raider.

The Land Raider has been through a journey of black undercoat, Tausept Ochre, some airbrushing and eventually a final coat of Daemonic Yellow spray from Army Painter.

When I was originally looking at the iconography on the doors of my Land Raider I did think about how I should paint it.

Initially I did consider painting it up with the colours of red, gold, black and white skulls. However when I looked at examples online they looked very busy. One thing I always liked about the Terminators from Space Hulk and at Warhammer World were the stone icons on their shoulder pads, like these Dark Angles Death Wing Terminators from Warhammer World.

So in the end I decided that I would paint the icongraphy on the doors as stone. I painted the door iconography with Mechanicus Standard Grey. I however did paint the skulls with Ushabti Bone.

Then I washed the model with various Citadel Shades. I also did some dry brushing with various shades of yellow.

Once the model was shaded I then painted the doors with Stormvermin Fur. This was followed by a drybrush of Dawnstone Layer and then a lighter dry brush of Administratum Grey. The Dry paint grey was too dark, so I did a final really light dry brush of Terminatus Stone Dry paint.

I was really quite pleased with the effect that I got in the end.

Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur

Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur at Warhammer World.

Disciplined beyond fault, trained to make unerring decisions in the heat of battle, Saurus Scar-Veterans are great champions of the seraphon. Always found where the fighting is at its most intense, their ferocity and tenacity are an inspiration to to massed ranks of seraphon that follow them. Far from mere berserkers, Scar-Veterans demonstrate an impressively cool temperament, choosing their battles relatively carefully. They ride mighty Carnosaurs, whose maws are lined with teeth as large and sharp as swords; these enormous saurian horrors are enough to decimate entire enemy armies.

Bastiladon

Bastiladon models at Warhammer World.

An enormous creature covered entirely in impregnable armoured scales, the Bastiladon shrugs off all but the strongest attacks, all the while smashing down enemy lines with all the unstoppable force of a landslide. Stamping down anything able to move out of range of its terrible maw, the Bastiladon’s size means it can be armed with some incredible weaponry. The Solar Engine radiates the staggering power of a sun, casting forth death beams that turn armour to molten slag and incinerate anything alive extremely quickly; daemons are notably vulnerable to this Azyrite light. The Ark of Sotek spits forth a never-ending tangle of serpents, whose star-envenomed fangs bite deep into flesh, causing the blood within to burn with the flames of Azyr.
