Forgeworld Grot Bomb Launcha

This is the Forgeworld Grot Bomb Launcha from their Display Cabinets at GamesDay 2005.

What I find quite revealing about the model (and it is a display model) is that this is a conversion, the Wartrakk’s tracks have been replaced by wheels and the driver has had its top half replaced by an Ork Boyz model. These extra parts are not included in the Forgeworld kit, but I would have thought a display model should be as you get it and not with added bitz…

Killa Kans

I often paint my miniatures to what I call a gaming standard (okay to put on the table) and then add detail later (sometimes much later).

I decided it was high time that I added some detailing to my Killa Kans, as they looked a little plain, especially in the missile department. The Rokkits were painted white, then red and then given a wash on ink to gloss them up slightly.

In the main I will be adding some copper and bronze to various metal parts and adding some more Ork glyphs.

Ork forces in the desert

Here is a group shot of my desert style Ork vehicles.

Ork armoured vehicles on the move

There are a real mix of old and new models, metal and resin.

As you can see I have followed *fashion* and I have based the miniatures which has its advantages and disadvantages.

Epic Ork Trukks

I have since photographing these got some more brown paints from GW so I can continue the brown theme but maintain a distinctness between the vehicles.

Lungburstaz on patrol

Though not quite finished, here are my Lungburstaz which after their base coat have had a wash of Chestnut Ink, Scorched Brown and water.

Epic Lungbursta

One of the things about these older models is that they are made with a softer metal, which though great for conversions is susceptible to knocks and even just pressure. I caused a few mishaps with mine when I was getting them off the wood stick I had glued them to.

I do like the Lungbursta model and I am pleased to see you can still get it.
