Marauder Destroyer

The Marauder Destroyer variant was developed during the second war for Armageddon after heavy losses in the Naval airforces. Orkish dominance of the skies over certain areas of Armageddon forced the few remaining Marauders to be refitted to operate at night, flying at extremely low level where they could evade detection. Their new heavier weapon payload made anything which got in the way seriously regret it!

This is a model on display at GamesDay 2008. This is also the Marauder Destroyer featured in the Modelling Masterclass Volume 1. I love the detail on these models.

Named after a mysterious figure from the Imperium’s earliest days, Malcador the Sigillite (-a close advisor to the Emperor during the Battles of Unification, and the man credited with founding the Administratum of Terra), the tank is a mobile fortress, heavily armed and armoured but slow. Mounting multiple heavy bolters for all-round defence, side-sponson weapons and a demolisher cannon in a limited-traverse hull mount.

I do like this model, especially the Vulcan Mega Bolter variant, it looks very mean without looking too over the top. This is another well painted model, and beautifully weathered.

On show in the Forge World display cabinets at GamesDay 2008.

Ork Flakk Wagon

I think my favourite model from GamesDay 2008 was Forge World’s Ork Flakk Wagon.

We first saw the Forge World Ork Flakk Wagon at GamesDay 2008, still no sign of it been available. It was also on show at the Forge World Open Day 2009.

Still looking good. Wondering though when it will become available?

From a gaming perspective it can’t really be considered too important as I guess not too many gamers use aircraft in their games (but hey you never know).

From a model perspective it is just a conversion kit, it is not a full resin kit.

I really do like the way it looks, very Orky.

I also like it, because it means that Forge World are making more Ork stuff.

So what’s going to be next?

What do you think?
