Ork Flakk Wagon

I think my favourite model from GamesDay 2008 was Forge World’s Ork Flakk Wagon.  One of the highlights of GamesDay 2009 for me was the fantastic Ork Shanty Town display that Forge World did. There were many of the new Forge World models including an Ork Trukk armed with an Ork Flakk Gun. This is what you and I would call an Ork Flakk Wagon. Bizarrely Forge World don’t sell a Flakk Wagon, you would need to use the Ork Trukk with Enclosed Cab and the separate Flakk gun to recreate the model advertised as a Flakk Wagon at GamesDay 2008.

Still this is a nice model.

Space Marine Drop Pod

Space Marine Drop Pod on display at GamesDay 2008.

The Space Marines are known as the Angels of Death, and the title is never more appropriate than when they attack using Drop Pods. Drop Pod assaults are the ultimate weapon of terror and surprise, aimed right at the heart of the foe. Scarcely have the smouldering hulls come to rest when their hatches blow clear, and the occupants disembark to wreak havoc on wrong-footed enemies.

This is a nice model, and Simon has a couple, I have considered getting a few myself. Not sure for what though?

Space Marine Land Speeder Storm

At GamesDay 2008 we first saw the Space Marine Land Speeder Storm.

This was a really nice model that when it was released came with Space Marine Scouts.

I always thought that a flight of Land Speeders would make for an interesting force.

Staring down the barrel…

Cobra

The Cobra is another of the Eldar’s Engines of Vaul, much like the Scorpion, but re-armed with a massive D-cannon. This is a weapon capable of tearing a hole through time and space, and allowing the Immaterium to flood into the material plane with terrible destructive force.

Ork Nob Warbike

On display at GamesDay 2008 were Forge World’s Ork Nob Warbikers. This is one of the three that make up the £50.90 set.

Now I do like the model in the photograph, however I was less of a fan of the others in the set. Now I do buy Forge World models, but at £50.90 I think that the set is a little overpriced; hey even the plastic Ork Warbiker Mob at £22.50 is in my opinion not that good value for money!

From a gaming perspective, the Ork Warbiker is a mean unit, how do I know, I have a unit of Deffkoptaz.

Thinking about getting the new Ork Mega-Force from Games Workshop which comes with nine Warbikes. Still won’t get the resin Nob Bikers from Forge World though.
