Nice new Epic Heavy Ork Bommerz…
As was indicated in an earlier Forge World newsletter Forge World are going to release an Epic Heavy Ork Bommer for Aeronautica Imperialis. There are three versions as well, and with interchangeable parts. Doesn’t quite look as I would have envisaged, but still nice.
++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++
Hi There, Well our event season is in full swing and this weekend we’re off to Games Day Germany, but we haven’t neglected the rest of you as we have two fantastic releases to announce in the shape of the Malcador heavy tank with Battle Cannon, and not one, but three new glorious Ork Bommerz for Aeronautica Imperialis. Thanks Alan Bligh
Malcador With Battle Cannon
The new Malcador with Battle cannon, designed by Daren Parrwood, offers another fantastic option for your Renegade or Imperial Guard forces. The tank features a modified upper hull with an unusual enclosed turret mounted cannon giving the Malcador a very unique and arcane feel compared to more conventionally designed Imperial tanks, and a real flavour of the Imperium’s ten-thousand year long history of war. The tank’s other armament, modified from the standard Malcador also includes a optional autocannons, lascannons or heavy bolters for the hull and sponson mounts. As a super-heavy tank, the Malcador will prove far more durable in open battle that the smaller Leman Russ, serving as a mobile fortress for your advance. The model is supplied with full weapon options and commander models for both Vraksian Renegade Militia and the Imperial Guard.
We hope to have experimental rules for the Malcador with Battle Cannon on our website soon..
The Malcador with Battle Cannon is available to pre-order for release commencing the 3rd of September. Were are also hoping to have a small number with us to sell at Games Day Germany, but this supply will be very limited, so get in early to avoid disappointment!
Aeronautica Imperials Ork Bommerz
Also available to pre-order now are our new Ork Bommerz for Aeronautica Imperialis; there are in fact three of these beasts, and each is superbly detailed with no end of engines, guns, rockets and wacky Ork ‘tech’. The fact that all the component parts (noses, wings, fuselages, tails etc.) are all fully interchangeable between the models means if you buy multiple bommerz there’s loads of different cool combinations and looks you can achieve. We couldn’t resist going to town on this ourselves as you can see in our extensive (40+ picture) gallery here.
Designed by the inimitable Mr Parrwood, the Ork Bommerz are multi-purpose in true greenskin fashion, doubling up as transport craft (as stormboys can be pushed out of the back door just as easily as bombs!), and they can therefore fill a lot of different roles in your Games of Aeronautica Imperialis.
Basic experimental rules for the Bommer can be found Here. Full rules will appear in the forthcoming Aeronautical Imperialis Supplement.
Also available for pre-order is our new Ork Bomb & Rokkit pack for Aeronautica which you can use with any of your Ork planes. This allows you to load up your Bommerz with even more bombs!
You can view the components for the Ork Bommer, Blasta Bommer 1 and Blasta Bommer 2 and are all available to pre-order now for release week commencing the 3rd of September.
Forthcoming Events
Forge World will be attending, Games Day Germany on Sunday the 5th of August and Games Day Los Angeles on the 11th of August, with our full trade stand and we hope to see you there.
We’ll also have a presence at Gen Con UK in Reading on the 1st and 2nd September. Although at Gen Con we won’t have a full trade stand, we will have some of our most recent releases with us, and we’ll be able to take your orders on the day to send out to you later You can also place a reservation order with us to pick up and pay for at Gen Con UK. Just email or phone us before hand with the details of the models and books you want to pick up on the day.
One of the nice extra parts for the Sisters of Battle Repressor is the large dozer blade. It consists of two parts; the blade and the attachment for attaching the blade to the hull.
The blade has some quite large sprue attachments which need to be removed with care.
If you don’t it can result in damage to the resin blade, luckily this is at the bottom of the blade.
The attachment had a fair bit of flash attached which needed to be cleaned.
I am going to paint this part separately, but to give you an idea on how the final Repressor will look here is as though the dozer blade was attached.
The next stage is doors, for which I think I may purchase some Rhino Inquisition doors from Forgeworld.
There are some nice new Epic Scale Ork Flak Gunz & Flak Wagon announced in this newsletter, which will make some nice reinforcements for my Ork Epic army. Hopefully at some point Forge World will make some more Epic Ork stuff which is not just for Aeronautica Imperialis.

Hi There, Here at Forge World we`re busy preparing for the onslaught of Games Days we have all over the world in the next two months, and we should have quite a few surprises and cool models in store for you. Yet we still have three new releases for you now in the shape of new Ork Flak Gunz and Flak Wagon in Epic scale for Aeronautica Imperialis, and the much anticipated Death Korps of Krieg HQ Command Squad for Warhammer 40,000. Thanks Alan Bligh
Death Korps of Krieg Command HQ Squad
I know many of our customers have been waiting with baited breath for the release of the Death Korps of Krieg HQ Command Squad, and I hope you`ll agree it`s been worth the wait. Extremely detailed and characterful, this HQ Command Squad is another fantastic addition to our Death Korps range sculpted by Simon Egan. The squad features a senior officer standing impassively surveying the battlefield, two troopers with lasguns, a master-vox operator, and an ensign carrying a regimental standard that should leave no-one in doubt as to the Death Korps` nature or intent. The officer in particular is a stand-out model for me, clearly sharing much in terms of uniform with the Krieg Death Riders, there`s a lot of truly stunning detail that Mr Egan has lavished on his design from the Imperial Aquila gorget to the life-like way he`s sculpted the hang of the officer`s coat. It`s a great model and one of the reasons I think this squad`s going to be popular not just with Krieg players, but with hobbyists and painters of all types.
Full rules for the Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 5: The Siege of Vraks.
Ork Flakwagon Epic Scale Ork Flak Gunz & Flak Wagon
New for Aeronautica Imperialis (not to mention your games of Epic) are new Ork Flak Gunz and Flak Wagons, designed by Will Hayes. These highly detailed little beauties look great with their quad barrelled shoota cannon and are ready to rip enemy aircraft out of the sky in a suitably loud orkish hail of lead.
Forthcoming Events
Forge World will be attending Games Day Chicago on the 28th of July, Games Day Germany on Sunday the 5th of August and Games Day Los Angeles on the 11th of August.

…let them burn in the fires of retribution or somesuch rubbish…
The Repressor kit comes with a resin flamer for a hatch ring.
Combined with the plastic hatch ring from the extras sprue, it will go on the top of the Repressor structure.
It went together very easily.
I decided to make the hatch closed, if this was a Sisters of Battle Repressor or a Adeptus Arbites Repressor then I may have added a gunner, as this will be used for different units I decided to make it closed.
For me one of the key parts of this newsletter is the picture of what to me looks like an Epic Ork Heavy Bomber. True we only get to see the nose, but what else could it be. I do hope that we see this soon.
What do you think?

Hello All,
This newsletter sees the release not only of a much-requested new tank variant in the shape of the Macharius with Vanquisher Cannons, but also our new Epic Scale Sabre Platforms and some exciting hints at the future of Aeronautica Imperialis too!
Thanks
Alan Bligh
Macharius With Vanquisher Cannons
As the first variant of our Macharius Heavy Tank, the new Vanquisher cannon armed model is indeed a brutal looking beast and every inch the armoured killer, and what`s more it looks the part to as you can see Here. This variant`s twin Vanquisher cannon make it a tank-destroyer with few equals on the Warhammer 40,000 battlefield and a serious threat even to other super-heavies, with its Vanquisher anti-tank shells able to pulverise even the most heavily armoured target into wreckage.
The Macharius with Vanquisher Cannons is available for pre-order now for release from the week commencing 30th July.
Epic Sabre Defence Platforms
Also available to pre-order now for release on the 30th of July are our new Epic Scale Sabre Platforms. These finely detailed small models are equipped with long-barrelled AA mount autocannons, and are a very characterful way of bolstering your ground defences during a an AI game, and of course are also perfectly usable in your games of Epic as well.
Full rules for using air defences and Sabre Platforms can be found in the Aeronautica Imperialis Rulebook.
The Sabre Defence Platforms are available for pre-order now for release from the week commencing 30th July.

carve and file…
After much thought about the ill-fitting top on my Sisters of Battle Repressor I decided initially to try and file down the Rhino body to allow the resin superstructure fit.
This wasn’t really working, so I decided to trim the back of the superstructure.
This allowed the superstructure to fit.
But it wasn’t a perfect fit.
This was more apparent on the front.
Where there was quite a large gap.
Time to get out the green stuff (putty).
The resin seems to have shrunk…
As I was building the Repressor I noticed that I had a problem. The new roof did not fit as expected, it was as though it had shrunk.
The arrow points to the parts not fitting together as they should.
This is of course always a concern with resin parts and to be honest I almost expect it with Forgeworld models, these are resin kits which require skill not mass produced plastic kits which any old fool can put together!
Now the issue was how was I going to rectify this?
