As you might have already guessed with the advent of the plastic BaneBlade, Forgeworld have been working on conversion kits which use the new plastic kit.
This is Daren Parrwood’s work in progress of a Shadowsword conversion kit.
The target price is £90-£100 which is two thirds of the price of a full resin Shadowsword, but has the advantage that the plastic part of the kit should be easier to put together than the resin parts of the current model.
Certainly there are other conversion possibilities as well including Ork looted versions and Chaos versions.
Imperial Macharius Heavy Tank on display at the Forgeworld stand…

Imperial Macharius Heavy Tank Armed with two Battle Cannon, Twin Linked Heavy Stubber and two weapon sponsons. Sponsons can be equipped with either Heavy Bolters, Heavy Stubbers or Heavy Flamers. On display at the Forgeworld stand at GamesDay 2007.
Today I was at GamesDay 2007, and yes I did take a load of pictures (over 200) and yes I am uploading them as I speak.
Next year I think I will use a mobile phone and Shozu so that they are uploaded as I take them… that will be different.
I did enjoy the show, much more than last year. I suspect this may have been because there were lots of new Orks on show. Last year (for me anyway) I had already seen all the preview stuff, this year there was loads I hadn’t seen.
Here is the new Ork Trukk which will be out on the 7th January (in the UK).
Forgeworld had some nice displays, but didn’t seem to have as much new and unknown stuff as they use to have in previous years (maybe they are just getting it out faster).
They did though have the Reaver Titan.
Eventually you will be able to find all my photographs on the site.
The Forgeworld website now mentions three new models.
An Imperial Macharius Vulcan Heavy Tank armed with a Vulcan Mega Bolter, Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber and two weapon sponsons. A Tau Remora Drone controlled Stealth fighter aircraft armed with twin linked long barrelled Burst Cannons, a Networked Markerlight and two Seeker missiles. Finally a Death Korps of Krieg Quartermaster with three Servitors and an injured Korpsman.
This is a fantasy conversion of the Forgeworld Squiggoth on display in the Warhammer World store at the Games Workshop HQ.
You can find out how I painted my Squiggoth on my workbench feature.
You can see other pictures in the Squiggoth gallery.
In my recent order to Forgeworld I took the opportunity to order one of the etched brass pieces which Forgeworld have been selling over the last few years.
They are much smaller than you think they will be, just 4½” long.
However despite the smaller than expected size I was impressed with the quantity and quality of the designs.
I will be using them on my Repressor, Razorback and Mark IIb Land Raider.
I recently ordered some more Purity Seals from Forgeworld.
What I do like is the act that they are easy to cut out and use. I know it is possible to make your own using paper and Green Stuff, but for quality and ease of use, these Forgeworld ones are a winner for me. Oh and you get the skulls as well.
