Dozerblade for the Repressor

One of the nice extra parts for the Sisters of Battle Repressor is the large dozer blade. It consists of two parts; the blade and the attachment for attaching the blade to the hull.

Dozerblade for the Repressor

The blade has some quite large sprue attachments which need to be removed with care.

If you don’t it can result in damage to the resin blade, luckily this is at the bottom of the blade.

Dozerblade for the Repressor

The attachment had a fair bit of flash attached which needed to be cleaned.

Dozerblade for the Repressor

I am going to paint this part separately, but to give you an idea on how the final Repressor will look here is as though the dozer blade was attached.

Repressor

The next stage is doors, for which I think I may purchase some Rhino Inquisition doors from Forgeworld.

Forge World Newsletter #180

There are some nice new Epic Scale Ork Flak Gunz & Flak Wagon announced in this newsletter, which will make some nice reinforcements for my Ork Epic army. Hopefully at some point Forge World will make some more Epic Ork stuff which is not just for Aeronautica Imperialis.

++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

Hi There,

Here at Forge World we`re busy preparing for the onslaught of Games Days we have all over the world in the next two months, and we should have quite a few surprises and cool models in store for you. Yet we still have three new releases for you now in the shape of new Ork Flak Gunz and Flak Wagon in Epic scale for Aeronautica Imperialis, and the much anticipated Death Korps of Krieg HQ Command Squad for Warhammer 40,000.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Death Korps of Krieg Command HQ Squad

I know many of our customers have been waiting with baited breath for the release of the Death Korps of Krieg HQ Command Squad, and I hope you`ll agree it`s been worth the wait. Extremely detailed and characterful, this HQ Command Squad is another fantastic addition to our Death Korps range sculpted by Simon Egan. The squad features a senior officer standing impassively surveying the battlefield, two troopers with lasguns, a master-vox operator, and an ensign carrying a regimental standard that should leave no-one in doubt as to the Death Korps` nature or intent. The officer in particular is a stand-out model for me, clearly sharing much in terms of uniform with the Krieg Death Riders, there`s a lot of truly stunning detail that Mr Egan has lavished on his design from the Imperial Aquila gorget to the life-like way he`s sculpted the hang of the officer`s coat. It`s a great model and one of the reasons I think this squad`s going to be popular not just with Krieg players, but with hobbyists and painters of all types.
Full rules for the Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 5: The Siege of Vraks.

Epic Scale Ork Flak WagonOrk Flakwagon Epic Scale Ork Flak Gunz & Flak Wagon

New for Aeronautica Imperialis (not to mention your games of Epic) are new Ork Flak Gunz and Flak Wagons, designed by Will Hayes. These highly detailed little beauties look great with their quad barrelled shoota cannon and are ready to rip enemy aircraft out of the sky in a suitably loud orkish hail of lead.

Forthcoming Events

Forge World will be attending Games Day Chicago on the 28th of July, Games Day Germany on Sunday the 5th of August and Games Day Los Angeles on the 11th of August.

Repressor Hatch Flamer

…let them burn in the fires of retribution or somesuch rubbish…

The Repressor kit comes with a resin flamer for a hatch ring.

Repressor Hatch Flamer

Combined with the plastic hatch ring from the extras sprue, it will go on the top of the Repressor structure.

Repressor Hatch Flamer

It went together very easily.

Repressor Hatch Flamer

I decided to make the hatch closed, if this was a Sisters of Battle Repressor or a Adeptus Arbites Repressor then I may have added a gunner, as this will be used for different units I decided to make it closed.

Forge World Newsletter #179

Epic Ork Heavy BomberFor me one of the key parts of this newsletter is the picture of what to me looks like an Epic Ork Heavy Bomber. True we only get to see the nose, but what else could it be. I do hope that we see this soon.

What do you think?

++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

Hello All,
This newsletter sees the release not only of a much-requested new tank variant in the shape of the Macharius with Vanquisher Cannons, but also our new Epic Scale Sabre Platforms and some exciting hints at the future of Aeronautica Imperialis too!

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Macharius With Vanquisher Cannons

As the first variant of our Macharius Heavy Tank, the new Vanquisher cannon armed model is indeed a brutal looking beast and every inch the armoured killer, and what`s more it looks the part to as you can see Here. This variant`s twin Vanquisher cannon make it a tank-destroyer with few equals on the Warhammer 40,000 battlefield and a serious threat even to other super-heavies, with its Vanquisher anti-tank shells able to pulverise even the most heavily armoured target into wreckage.

The Macharius with Vanquisher Cannons is available for pre-order now for release from the week commencing 30th July.

Epic Sabre Defence Platforms

Also available to pre-order now for release on the 30th of July are our new Epic Scale Sabre Platforms. These finely detailed small models are equipped with long-barrelled AA mount autocannons, and are a very characterful way of bolstering your ground defences during a an AI game, and of course are also perfectly usable in your games of Epic as well.

Full rules for using air defences and Sabre Platforms can be found in the Aeronautica Imperialis Rulebook.

The Sabre Defence Platforms are available for pre-order now for release from the week commencing 30th July.

New On The Horizon

Those of you who have become converts of our air combat game Aeronautica Imperialis (and if not, one is forced to wonder, why not?) have been enquiring for a while whether or not we have anything more in the pipeline for the game. Well I`m happy to say that the powers that be have let me inform you that the answer is an emphatic `yes` Not only are there just some great new aircraft on the way, we also have a new Imperial airbase set and a new supplement book in preparation for the game, all of which we hope to have for you very soon. Keep an eye for more news on this in future newsletters.

Forthcoming Events

We`ve a busy schedule in the coming months, we will be attending Games Day Chicago on the 28th of July where we will have a good selection of our stock for you to purchase, including a few pre-release items and our much sought-after Show Only Models, as well as previews of what we have in store. You want to place a reservation order for this event to pick up and pay for on the day, it should reach us by this Friday (the 13th no less!)

Forge World also will be attending Games Day Germany on Sunday the 5th of August and Games Day Los Angeles on the 11th of August, and the cut off date for reservations to reach us for both of these events is Friday the 27th of July.

If you`d like to place an order to reserve items to pick up and pay for on the day, you can do so by sending an email entitled with the games day you`ll be attending and containing with your order details and full name to our Forge World inbox at forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk. The continuing saga of the ill-fitting top

carve and file…

After much thought about the ill-fitting top on my Sisters of Battle Repressor I decided initially to try and file down the Rhino body to allow the resin superstructure fit.

This wasn’t really working, so I decided to trim the back of the superstructure.

Sisters of Battle Repressor

This allowed the superstructure to fit.

Sisters of Battle Repressor

But it wasn’t a perfect fit.

Sisters of Battle Repressor

This was more apparent on the front.

Sisters of Battle Repressor

Where there was quite a large gap.

Sisters of Battle Repressor

Time to get out the green stuff (putty).

Sisters of Battle Repressor – Storm Troopers Transport Storm Bolter Turret

The Storm Bolter Turret on my Sisters of Battle Repressor – Storm Troopers Transport went together very easily.

These are the resin and plastic components.

Sisters of Battle Repressor Storm Bolter Turret

Here is the completed turret.

Sisters of Battle Repressor Storm Bolter Turret

It fits nicely into the turret ring.

The top don’t fit

The resin seems to have shrunk…

As I was building the Repressor I noticed that I had a problem. The new roof did not fit as expected, it was as though it had shrunk.

The top don't fit

The arrow points to the parts not fitting together as they should.

This is of course always a concern with resin parts and to be honest I almost expect it with Forgeworld models, these are resin kits which require skill not mass produced plastic kits which any old fool can put together!

Now the issue was how was I going to rectify this?

Hi There,

Welcome again to the Forge World Newsletter, this edition we have a brace on exciting new releases to preview for you, first off there is the mighty Chaos Harbinger for Aeronautica Imperialis, while for Warhammer 40,000 we have the new reinforcements for the Vraksian Renegade Militia in the shape of our new Rogue Psykers and the Enforcer Conversion set.

Alan Bligh
Forge World

Chaos Harbinger

A brand new aircraft for Aeronautica Imperialis, the Chaos Harbinger is a vast warplane; a heavy bomber designed to level cities and engulf them in a sea of incendiary fire. The model itself; -a wickedly streamlined killing machine is a great new design around 17cm long, and just over 11cm wide, which puts it at several times the size of an Imperial Marauder and largely comparable in scale to a Tau Manta, although a deal sleeker and more deadly looking in profile.

In the game the Harbinger is hugely destructive to ground targets, bringing a deadly punch to Chaos air fleets both for scenarios and campaign play, and it`s also well defended with reaper autocannon to keep would-be interceptors at bay. You can find experimental rules for using the Harbinger in your games of Aeronautica Here.

The Harbinger is available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 2nd of July.

Renegade Militia Enforcers – Conversion Set

The first of our new models to augment the forces of the Vraksian Renegade Militia in this newsletter are the Renegade Militia Enforcers Conversion Set. The Vraksian Enforcers are the fanatical followers of the heretic Cardinal Xaphan, it is they who enact his will and enforce brutal discipline in the ranks of the Renegade Militia, spurring on the troopers to greater heights of violence and killing those whose cowardice turns them from the Cardinal`s path.

This set comprises of enough parts (heads and plated torsos, arms, armour plates and weapons) to create five Renegade Militia Enforcers in conjunction with the Plastic Cadian Shock Troopers boxed set (although as with our other Renegade Militia Conversion sets you can use other plastics with a little effort too). These models by Mark Bedford are great additions to the range, and I predict that their hellish skull-masks are going to be gracing quite a few battlefields shortly, and they aptly show the dark path down which the Renegades of Vraks are being lead. As well as Vraksian Enforcers, you could also use these conversion kits to create marvellously sinister unit leaders, arch-heretics and demagogues for your Traitor Guard, Lost and Damned armies, cultists and more.

The Renegade Militia Enforcer conversion sets are available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 2nd of July.

Renegade Militia Rogue Psykers

Along with the new Enforcers, this newsletter we also have our new Rogue Psyker models also by our own master of all-things renegade -Mark Bedford. This pack of two complete resin models presenting two very different illustrations of the Rogue Psykers unleashed on Vraks; one exulting in his dark arts and the others screaming in agony as the powers of the warp flood through him. As well as powerful (if unpredictable) additions to a Renegade Militia force, these hugely characterful models I`m sure will appeal to both collectors and gamers alike, making for great retinue members for Inquisitorial warbands (particularly of a radical bent), Daemonhunter and Witchhunter foes, demagogues and sorcerers.

The Rogue Psykers are available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 2nd of July.

You can find full rules for the Renegade Militia Enforcers and Rogue Psykers in Imperial Armour Volume 5: The Siege of Vraks.
