Capitol Imperialis

At UK GamesDay 2004 the Fantic table had a file full of pictures, here are some of the Capitol Imperialis.

here’s another one…

one more…

This is a photo of the original model.

I am not sure if I like the new concept which seems a little too gothic for the Imperial Guard.

Anyway with the re-organisation of Fanatic we may never actually see a new model!

Chronicles of Narnia

I like The Chronicles of Narnia, yes I know there is an underlying Christian message, but I didn’t know this when I was a kid and enjoyed the fantasy novel at face value.

I am sure that there are many people out there who have checked out an old wardrobe in a relative’s house wondering if it was a gateway to a fantasy world.

Quite a few current books I am sure were inspired by CS Lewis’ creation.

Worth checking out.

Spielberg's War of the Worlds Trailer now online…

I mentioned in a previous post that Steve Spielberg was making a film version of War of the Worlds.
You can now watch the trailer online and visit the official website.
Alas it is set in the modern day (and there I was hoping it would be a 19th Century version) and the trailer does not tell you much at all….
…oh and the film stars Tom Cruise!

Imperial Guard Armoured Basilisk

This is another Forgeworld Basilisk.

Imperial Guard Armoured Basilisk

As you can see they have added a tank commander. One of the advantages of a six mega-pixel camera is the ability to zoom into a shot to see the detail. Click the above image to see a larger version.

This is a wonderfully detailed and well-painted model and you can see why a lot of people play Imperial Guard.

Aquila Lander

The new boxed set of Warhammer 40000 has some plastic scenery of a crashed Imperial Flyer.

Forgeworld have realised a resin version of the “complete” un-crashed flyer.

This is a picture of a completed model taken at UK GamesDay 2004.

Aquila Lander

It looks okay from this angle, but personally I am not a fan of it.

Other picture I took can be found here.

Doctor Who announced by the BBC

Doctor Who announced by the BBC as part of their winter highlights, though no date…

The BBC have announced that Doctor Who will be part of their winter lineup, though no actual date has been given.

Doctor Who announced as part of BBC new season.

Reassuringly, the new series of Doctor Who has been included in the press pack for the BBC’s Winter highlights.

While there is no new information, it’s lovely to see it in print.

“Acclaimed actor Christopher Eccleston plays Doctor Who in a new series for BBC One next year.

Billie Piper, who made her acting debut in the critically acclaimed Canterbury Tales – The Miller’s Tale, stars alongside Eccleston as the Doctor’s companion, Rose Tyler.

Travelling through time and space, the Doctor and Rose come face to face with a number of new and exciting monsters – as well as battling with the Doctor’s arch-enemy, the Daleks.

The series, which promises to surprise and entertain a new generation, also features Penelope Wilton, Noel Clarke, Annette Badland, Camille Coduri and John Barrowman, Bruno Langley and celebrated theatre, film and television actor Simon Callow.

Filming in Cardiff until 2005 for transmission on BBC One, Doctor Who is written by Russell T Davies, Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Paul Cornell and Robert Shearman.”
