Imperial Guard clearing an Ork Settlement

At GamesDay 2006 there were a fair few demonstration games. One such game featured an Ork settlement under attack from the Imperial Guard. Here we see the Imperial Guard on the top of the settlement.

I wonder if they have managed to clear the building of all the Orks?

Victorian SF Imperial Guard Rough Riders

The main focus of Bristol Conflict 2003 (was it really six years ago now) was the tournament games. Yes there was a Forge World stand and yes there were demonstration games and yes there was a very very small Games Workshop retail stand, however the main reason people went was to play games.

One Imperial Guard army which caught my eye was a Victorian Science Fiction themed army which made extensive use of the Praetorian Imperial Guard figures.

It was a really nice army. This photograph shows the Rough Riders. The mechanically enhanced soldiers in the background are counted as Ogryns which I thought was a clever idea and a nice touch.

Great blog on someone else’s Praetorian Imperial Guard army.

Epic Imperial Guard Salamander

Here is an Imperial Guard Salamander from Simon’s collection slowly moving through the ruins of an Imperial ruined city.

The Salamander command vehicle is one of the many vehicles based on the flexible Chimera chassis. Armoured Company command sections are often equipped with the Salamander Command vehicle, allowing them and their Chimera borne infantry keep up during an assault and support the tanks.

These conversions were made, probably about ten years ago.

I am pretty sure that these are Griffon hulls, as for the gunners, well would you believe me if I said they were Ork Buggy Gunners?

Imperial Guard Malcador Heavy Tank

Imperial Guard Malcador Heavy Tank

Named after a mysterious figure from the Imperium’s earliest days, Malcador the Sigillite (-a close advisor to the Emperor during the Battles of Unification, and the man credited with founding the Administratum of Terra), the tank is a mobile fortress, heavily armed and armoured but slow. Mounting multiple heavy bolters for all-round defence, side-sponson weapons and a demolisher cannon in a limited-traverse hull mount.
