Hades Breaching Drill

When you have a fortified position which you absolutely, resolutely need to get through, then choose the Hades Breaching Drill.

It does what it says on the tin!

This is the excellent new Death Korps of Krieg Hades Breaching Drill.

Hades Breaching Drill

Just the thing to take out that fortified Ork stronghold that I have (not) been building.

Hades Breaching Drill

Really nice model, nice to see something different. Now if we could see more innovative Ork stuff and slightly less Imperial Guard I think I would be happier!

Thanks to BoLS for heads up.

The Mole Mortar is back!

The infamous Mole Mortar is back!

At the Warhammer 40K 5th Edition bash at Warhammer World yesterday (12th June) Forge World had on display a sneek peek of a Krieg Engineer team with Mole Launcher; which has to be a Mole Mortar by any other name!

The Mole Mortar is back!

Nice model and a must for anyone using Death Korps of Krieg.

Thanks to BoLS.

Ork Aircraft Traktor

One of the Forgeworld models I have always liked is the Ork Aircraft Traktor and Launch Trolley. Ideal to go with my Ork Bommer.

Sadly this is now no longer available, so when stocks were running low (back in 2006) I bought one.

The model consists of the plastic Wartrakk and some resin pieces.

Having put the model together I initially gave it a white undercoat. Having re-looked at the model I decided that I wanted the dirty rusty metal look I had given some of my other Ork vehicles, so I gave the model a black undercoat. This was then initially given a drybrush of Tin Bitz.

I then gave it a drybrush of Boltgun Metal.

I also used some Blazing Orange to add rusty streaks.

The other side.

You can see the full workbench feature on the Traktor.

Eldar Scorpion Type II

The Scorpion super heavy grav tank is one of the largest vehicles capable of anti-gravatic movement. The Eldar have used the Scorpion to spearhead an all out attack, especially against strongly defended positions where its Pulsars are used to engage enemy bunkers and strong points.

This is the model from the Forgeworld displays at GamesDay 2004.

Capitol Imperialis at the Tank Factory

Back at GamesDay 2001, Carl from Dropship, which alas has not been updated for many years now, put on a most excellent Epic demonstration game with some fantastic models and some fantastic scenery.

One of the key scenery pieces for me was the freight yard, railway track and one of the nice Forge World Tank Factories (which is sadly now long longer available).

In that shot you can also see the very nice (and also not available) Capitol Imperalis.

Sadly this model was never re-released nor was it re-imagined when Epic Armageddon came around (and went again).

I have seen what some people have done on the web, but I do wonder now and again if Forge World will ever release either an Epic or a 40K version or something similar.

More photographs from this demonstration game.

Ork Great Gargant

At GamesDay 2003 there were a lot of Forge World Warhound Titans which has just been released. Amongst all that Imperial heavy armour was this lone Ork Great Gargant.

Ork Great Gargant

This was from Armorcast in the days before Games Workshop took large scale resin models back in house and created Forge World. It was only (in theory) available in the USA and was very difficult if not impossible to get in the UK.

If I could find one, afford one and have the time to paint one, I really would like to get hold of this model, but alas I think everything is against me!

Forge World seem to have no intention of making an Ork Gargant, even with the “green tide” of the new Ork Codex, we have seen very little if any new Ork stuff. There has been a rumour shot of a souped up Ork Trukk…

Ork Trukk

and some ammo grunts….

Ammo grunts

but apart from those, very little else.

Though I do wonder what else Forge World may be planning…

Forge World Newsletter #194

News of the big new Titan.

Hi There,
The great announcement this Newsletter is the arrival of the mighty Reaver Titan for pre-order. Much anticipated since we first showed a prototype of the model back at Games Day UK last year, this huge model kit is now finished and available to order. It’s caused quite a stir while previewed at our recent events, having garnered lots of excited interest (and its fair share of “ooos” and “aaahs,”) and here it is at last for everyone to see in full!
Thanks
Alan Bligh

Reaver Titan

The Mars Pattern Reaver Titan

The long awaited Reaver, designed by Will Hayes, is a fantastic model which is not only impressively huge, it`s also highly detailed, and comes complete with a full set of crew and a numbered certificate. You can find plenty of pictures of this extraordinary model, including interior detail shots Here on our website, with two examples painted in the colours of the Warp Runners by Phil Stutchinskas and the War Griffons Legion by Stuart Witter.

This huge model is a veritable goliath of the battlefield weighing in at well over twice the weight of a Warhound Titan, and standing at 400mm (approx) 16” high and 255mm (approx) 10” from shoulder to shoulder!

As well as being a truly imposing presence on the battlefield, it is, as you would expect from a Battle Titan, a terrifying opponent in gaming terms, and you can find experimental trial rules for the Titan for your Apocalypse games here. With lots of firepower and great durability thanks to its structure points and void shields, we’ve had it taking on multiple Scout Titans during play test and wiping the floor with slews of lesser super heavies! As well as dominating the tabletop, the Reaver would also make a stunning display model for collectors and a great painting project for hobbyists and gamers alike.

Ordering
The Reaver Titan is available in three weapons combinations, each features the carapace mounted Apocalypse Missile Launcher, and it is available either with a Gatling Blaster and Turbo Laser Blaster, or with two Gatling Blasters or two Turbo Laser Blasters.
The Reaver Titan is available to pre order now with shipping from the 26th of May. However if you want a Reaver as soon as possible, we recommend you order soon, as we will only be making a few of these large and complex models each week.
