Here is the concept sketch for the Feral Ork Steam Gargant from the Fanatic Display at UK GamesDay 2004.
You can see the resin of the actual model in this picture.
I do like this model (and I suspect we may get a Forgeworld version one day).
warhammer, wh40k, flames of war, bolt action, aeronautica imperialis, star wars, models, news, views and stuff
At UK GamesDay 2004 the Fantic table had a file full of pictures, here are some of the Capitol Imperialis.
here’s another one…
one more…
This is a photo of the original model.
I am not sure if I like the new concept which seems a little too gothic for the Imperial Guard.
Anyway with the re-organisation of Fanatic we may never actually see a new model!
Here are my Feral Ork infantry stands.
They have been undercoated black, though I think I should have added some sand or flock to their bases before giving them an undercoat.
Note that they are on Warmaster bases, 40mm x 20mm rather than the Epic 40000 40mm x 10mm bases which are usually the standard sized base.
Epic Tanks, some really nice conversions…
Bob DeAngelis has updated his website again, this time with a range of excellent tanks.
In particular check out the Command Leman Russ.
Bob DeAngelis (chubbybob) has added some pictures to his online gallery of Epic Space Marines.
These are really nice painted miniatures and well worth a look.
This comment from Jervis about new Army lists:
The way I think things will work is like this:
1. Variant lists will need to work with the existing model range for the race they are a variant of.
2. Chaos and Tyranids will need to work with the ‘old’ model range. That is, we will need to come up with lists that I can make work by simply putting the old ranges back into production.
3. With Titan Legion, OGBM, Tau and Necrons we carry on as we are currently, and you guys will just have to leave it to me to try and make sure that the models are made once we have a viable list in place.
Finally, in cases 1 & 2 we can still come up with new models, but if we do we’ll need to be able to tell players how they can make them themselves by converting models from the existing Citadel range, or using Citadel models as ‘stand-ins’. We can apply the same principle to the Titan Legion and OGBM lists to, if we want to.
On a positive note, this approach may allow us to get list up and running *sooner* than was the case before, so it’s not all downside.
Best regards,
Jervis Johnson

…implies that there will be fewer new models, if any at all…
This is a pity.
The Epic Armageddon metal Space Marine characters are released this month.
This is a picture I took at UK GamesDay 2004.
Here are the Space Marine Characters.
It’s a pity that they are based so much on the plastic characters, new designs would have been nice, as they have done with the bikes.
A pity you can’t get the bikes separately, and I am unsure how many bikes you get in the “random” blister.
The Ork characters look interesting, but again most are re-casts of the plastic characters!
