Araby Army

Mentioned in the current UK issue (297) of White Dwarf…

In this month’s White Dwarf is an article on a new Warmaster army, an Araby army complete with camels, elephants and flying carpets.

It made be realise how behind I was on Warmaster as I knew there were quite a few requests for an Araby army, but I didn’t realise how far the concept had come along.

As I am so far behind in painting any of my Warmaster armies I doubt I will be buying an Araby army, but I might do what I did with the Lizardmen and buy a few units I like and paint them up.

Grot Cutta

I originally bought this model for my Flintloque army.

It is a Gorkamorka Grot Cutta.

I am intending to use it with my Warhammer 40K Ork army as an alternative buggy.

The model originally came with two rear rubber tires, I decided (as it was a fantasy napoleonic army) to use the WH40K metal wheels. I have kept them as I think it looks better that way.

Settling Accounts – Return Engagement

I am about halfway through Settling Accounts – Return Engagement, which has just been published in the USA and available in the UK from Amazon.

I am really enjoying it and Turtledove does a very good alternate World War Two.

You can purchase the UK edition in October (which has a much better cover in my opinion).

I am a bit of a fan of Turtledove, but didn’t enjoy American Empire as much as previous books until I read the final part.

New Rulebook Out

The newest edition of Warhammer 40000 is now out in the shops in the UK.

Costing £30, the 288 page rulebook is a massive tome.

Unlike previous editions, this is a more an update on the previous version rather than a whole new version. In theory previous codices will still “work” with the new rules.

Ork Bommerz

Ork Bommerz are slightly fiddly…

I am currently putting together the Forgeworld Epic Ork Bommers.

They are really nice castings and well detailed, but are somewhat fiddly to put together as the kits contain very small parts.

Each Bommer comes with six bombs, I am going to only glue four on as I will use the spares for the ground vehicles that I am converting for use on the airfield.

These ground vehicles will include fuel trucks, crane trucks, weaponload trucks, tow vehicles and other types of vehicles you would expect to see on an Ork airfield.

I also hoping that Forgeworld will release the trailers (especially the tanker trailer) from their 40K scale range in Epic scale – this will give me a lot of conversion material.
