Junkatrukks

Here are two Junkatrukks that I have finished for my Feral Ork Army.

I know they could do with some detailing and maybe the odd glyph or two…

The models were painted orange and light brown and then given an ink wash.

Before I would use a plain ink wash, but after reading an article on Dropship, I added some Vomit Brown to the ink and water mix and as a result the finished models are not as glossy as when I have used an ink wash.

Also you may notice for my Feral Orks that I (for once) am following fashion and I am basing my vehicles…

Epic Ork Landa

I have undercoated my Ork Landa.

It is a really nice model, and it would be nice if Forgeworld made a 40K version.

Junkatrukks

I have made little progress with my Junkatrukks.

As you can see, since I last mentioned them, I have only managed to drybrush the metal parts.

I have since these pictures were taken experimented with an orange colour, but I am not sure at the moment, so I am only painting one to see how it comes out.

Deth Kopta Pilots

Here are two Deth Kopta pilots in the process of being painted.

They utilise parts from the original pilot and the plastic Ork Boyz sprue.

One difference with these then when I made the original model was that I stuck the flying handle to the model rather than try and assemble the whole thing when everything is painted.

Ork Shoota Boyz

This shot shows a work in progress of one of my Ork Boyz.

They are painted quite quickly in one respect, but I am still trying to get a good paint job on them.

I start off with a black undercoat and then do all the metallic bitz with a drybrush of tin bitz and chainmail.

I then do all the Ork skin with a dark green, highlight with Goblin Green before doing final highlights with a mixture of Goblin Green and Bleached Bone.

The orks’ teeth are first done in Bleached Bone before final highlights of Skull White.

Uniforms (and I say that in the broadest possible sense with orks) are usually Codex Grey with highlights in a lighter grey.

Bases to fit in with the snow based theme and Cityfight games are done in Codex Grey before drybrushing with Skull White.

Grot Cutta

I have added some brown to the ropes which will eventually hold the sail. They will have a lighter highlight.

I like the detail on this model and it’s a pity you can’t get them anymore (easily).

I am still considering what I should make the sail out of. Any ideas welcome.

Wartrakk Gunner

Wartrakk Gunner for a Trukk or Squiggoth…

If you get an Ork Skorcha or Grot Bomb Launcha, you also get as a result a spare Gunner.

This is one I am in the process of painting up.

I am going to use it on either a Trukk or my Squiggoth.

It is a pity that the rules/codex don’t allow you to use more twin-linked Big Shootas.

Feral Ork Infantry

Here are my Feral Ork infantry stands.

They have been undercoated black, though I think I should have added some sand or flock to their bases before giving them an undercoat.

Note that they are on Warmaster bases, 40mm x 20mm rather than the Epic 40000 40mm x 10mm bases which are usually the standard sized base.

Ork Landa

Here is a work in progress of my Ork Landa.

This is an all new model from GW and I did think the quality of the casting was rather sub-standard and the fit of the pieces poor.

I had to fill in quite a few gaps with green stuff, though the top fitted better than the underneath.

Epic Ork Bommerz

Having undercoated the Ork Bommerz with white paint, the next stage is to paint the metal bitz with black paint.
