Though I have had the model for some time, I wanted to surprise my opponent so I have not put any details out about it.
It is a superb casting and well sculptured and in my opinion a much nicer model than the bigger version (can’t spell Gargantuan).
Today I had a chance to use it in a game and yes my opponent was surprised.

There is still some work to do on it, but it is virtually finished.
Glued all the little pieces together…
I have (following the pictures on the Forgeworld website) glued my Epic Squiggoth together.
It came together relatively easily and it helped having a picture reference especially when it came to sticking the gun platform on.
It is a very well detailed model and full of character.
Epic conversion using the Airfix LCVP kit…
I have always had a fondness for the concept of small craft naval actions in Epic, reminiscent of the brown water forces of the Vietnam War.
I have just purchased a 1/72nd Airfix kit of the WWII LCVP Landing Craft.
I didn’t know this kit existed until recently when I saw it as part of a larger D-Day boxed set. I knew Airfix had made a tank landing craft in the past (which came with a Sherman tank and is still available (and was also in the D-Day boxed set)) but always thought it was too big for converting into an Epic size vessel.
This infantry landing craft is as you might expect much smaller and therefore makes it ideal conversion material.
The kit is pretty good in that it also contains components to make beach obstacles.
It is a full hull kit, so I will probably need to sand the base down a little to make it a waterline kit.
The real task will be epicising the model to make it look similar to the Epic models and less a 1/72nd kit. For this I will use plastic strip and lots of bits from Epic models such as Hydra turrets.
Using the Forgeworld conversion kit…
I have purchased some Twin Big Shootas from Forgeworld.
My intention is to use them as either weapon mounts on some Ork Trukks or even heavy weapon emplacements.
I have even considered using them to replace the weapons on the Deth Koptas to give them even more individualism.
What you get in the little bag…

The main fiddly bit looks like will be the bomb load.
They are very detailed models and I am very impressed with the casting and the quality of the models.
These will make a fine addition to my Ork Airfield Defence Force and I am now very tempted to get some of the FW Ork Fighters as well.
The following photograph gives you some idea of the comparative size between the Forgeworld Ork flyers and the original Epic 40K versions.
As you can see the Forgeworld model (even without the wings or tail) is substantially larger than the Epic 40K model.
I much prefer the more in-scale version, though I was quite the fan of the Epic40K models.
As seen in a previous entry, Forgeworld have released some Epic scale Ork Bommers.
Carl Woodrow has (and as may be expected) already got some and painted them and put pictures on his website.
Mine arrived in the post today.
They are very finely detailed kits with lots of pieces.
Another Soopa Gun conversion.
This conversion uses the Flakwagon Trukk and old SM2 era Basilisk guns.
Textured wallpaper is great for adding texture to flat surfaces.
An easy to get some is to pop to your local DIY store or even department store and get a sample of the wallpaper, you could very easily get at least a metre as a sample.
Pop to every store local to you and you will have more than enough to last you for lots of projects.
Small flying Ork machines…
Though Specialist Games have released an Epic Armageddon Deth Kopta, I decided some time ago to have a go at making my own.
It uses an Ork Buggy with the wheels sawn off, a small piece of the base sprue as the engine and the blades were made from plasticard strip.
