Ork Fighter Bommerz

These Ork Fighter Bommerz were on display at Warhammer World in Nottingham.

The Fighta-Bommer is the Orks’ primary tactical and strategic bombing aircraft. The Fighta-Bommer is capable of both void and atmospheric flight. It is used to bomb enemy bases and to assault enemy starships, or even in some cases to dogfight with enemy aircraft.

Constructed with typical Orkish crudeness, these rickety, gravity-defying contraptions are often surprisingly effective and dangerous to friend and foe alike, as is common with most Ork technology. Fighta-Bommerz are often deployed as air support during large Ork planetary invasions, or to serve as point defence for Ork starships.

Fighta-Bommerz are created by the few Meks who are interested in aircraft. As with all Ork vehicles, Fighta-Bommerz are kit-bashed affairs that usually defy the laws of aerodynamics, and fly despite their ungainly, brutish construction.

Scythed Hierodule

Scythed Hierodule

This is the Forge World Barbed Scythed at Warhammer World.

The Hierodule is a type of Tyranid Bio-Titan, but stands smaller than its more massive cousin the Hierophant. This class of bioform is brought into action only against the most determined defences. Hierodules are immense creatures, towering over the battlefield and bristling with spines, claws, tendrils and apocalyptic bio-weapons.

It is armed with four huge razor-sharp claws, each capable of slicing clean through a battle tank, and heavily protected by chitin plates, in places up to 30 centimetres thick. A Hierodule is far larger than a Carnifex, a monstrous-killing machine even by Tyranid standards.

Attacking the T’au

There are a range of huge dioramas in Warhammer World in Nottingham. One of them involved Imperial Titans attacking a T’au base.

Including the powerful Warlord Titan armed with Mars Pattern Warlord Titan Apocalypse Missile Launchers

Imperial Warlord Titan

The Apocalypse Missile Launcher is a Titan-class support weapon capable of firing volleys of missiles to saturate a wide target area. The superior elevation and mobility of a Battle Titan as a firing platform makes the Apocalypse launcher a surpassingly flexible weapon. When mounted in pairs on the Mars pattern Warlord Titan, the Apocalypse launcher becomes even more deadly.

Supporting the titans was a Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator.

Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator

A rare and truly arcane weapon system of staggering power, the Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator is of the smaller classes of Ordinatus, but nevertheless is one of the most potent war machines at the Imperium’s disposal.

The Ordinatus Ulator carries a trio of Volkite Culverins as its secondary armaments, but its primary weapon is the Ulator class Sonic Destructor. A terrifying weapon whose origins lie in the shadows of the Age of Strife, the Sonic Destructor generates a wave of annihilation that wreaks havoc across the battlefield.

Barbed Hierodule

The Barbed Hierodule (Uncus hierodule domitor), is a mutation of the Scythed Hierodule  it, has just two scythe-like claws but now has two massive Bio-cannons. The acidic symbiote creature was gone, and the Hierodule’s frontal chitinous armour plates had grown and thickened for extra protection.

Attack on the Titan

There are a range of huge dioramas in Warhammer World in Nottingham. One of them involved Imperial Titans attacking a T’au base.

The Reaver Titan was marching forward despite being repeatedly attacked by T’au forces.

T’au battlesuits  flew over the attacking forces attempting to stop them.

It was an impressive display and included a huge T’au Manta as well. The scenery is excellent representing a T’au base or colony.

The Battle For Angelus Prime at Warhammer World

One of the huge displays at Warhammer World is The Battle For Angelus Prime.

The Battle For Angelus Prime

This enormous diorama is full of models; with space marines, tanks, flyers and titans.

The moody lighting made photography difficult, but I did like how the walkway around went up so you could see right into the heart of the diorama.
