Cathedral of the Martyr Resplendent

The Cathedral of the Martyr Resplendent was a diorama at Warhammer World. It featured Word Bearers fighting Adepta Sororitas inside a Cathedral.

The Talledus system burns. Totalitarian faiths are the fuel, frenzied zealotry the spark that sets it ablaze. Hordes of Chaos-worshipping Word Bearers assault the strongholds of the Imperial creed, toppling statues and hurling libraries of holy texts into the flames.

The Cathedrum of the Martyr Resplendent is one such imperilled bastion, where the Battle Sisters of the Order of Our Martyred Lady make their stand, with righteous revulsion in their hearts.

Alongside the diorama were a fair few Adepta Sororitas models including this Adepta Sororitas Exorcist.

The Exorcist exemplifies the Adepta Sororitas’s unique blend of fervent devotion and ruthless prosecution of heresy. This mobile shrine to the Emperor is a masterpiece of ornate craftsmanship, rolling into battle while broadcasting hymns of praise. These inspiring sounds resonate across the battlefield, filling the hearts of the faithful with renewed faith and pride. When squadrons of Exorcists advance in armored spearheads, their combined hymns transform even the most brutal warzone into a resounding cathedral.

There was a also an Adepta Sororitas Castigator.

Castigators are formidable battle tanks of the Adepta Sororitas, designed to provide devastating fire support for their Battle Sisters. These heavily armored vehicles are equipped with a diverse arsenal, allowing them to engage a wide range of targets. Their primary role is to shatter enemy formations and decimate infantry ranks with overwhelming firepower. A single volley from a Castigator can tear through tightly packed enemy squads, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Whether unleashing a barrage of bolter fire, incinerating foes with flamestorms, or unleashing volleys of missiles, Castigators excel at clearing the path for advancing Sisters, turning the tide of battle in mere seconds. Their presence on the battlefield is a testament to the Emperor’s might, a symbol of righteous fury unleashed upon His foes.

Plastic Arvus Lighter on pre-order next week

One of the reveals at the World Championships Preview back in November was a plastic Arvus Lighter for The Horus Heresy.

This week we found out that it goes on pre-order on the 18th January.

I said in my previous post when the model was announced.

I really like this model and I will probably get this when it is released.

Though released for The Horus Heresy, I suspect it would also make a great model for, not just Warhammer 40K, but also Necromunda.

Skorpius Disintegrator

The Skorpius Disintegrator of the Adeptus Mechanicus drifts gracefully across the dunes, its anti-grav motors thrumming quietly in stark contrast to its thundering guns. As it accompanies the advancing Skitarii phalanxes, the Skorpius Disintegrator delivers punishing salvoes from its ferrumite or belleros energy cannons, while its cognis heavy stubbers and disruptor missile launcher spit death at any who would threaten the armoured vessel.

Onager Dunecrawler

Onager Dunecrawler

Owing its origin to the lost knowledge of millennia, the Onager Dunecrawler is based on the Mars Universal Land Engine; itself inspired by the bad-tempered beasts of burden that transported their masters across Holy Terra in ancient times. The Onager Dunecrawler, rather than being a mere people-carrier, is absolutely brimming with advanced, powerful weaponry capable of reducing worlds to wastelands.

Archaeopter Transvector

These Archaeopter Transvector models were on display at Warhammer World.

A workhorse not only of the toxic Martian skies, but of distant worlds at the forefront of the Tech-Priests’ expansion for millennia, the Archaeopter is an agile fixed-wing aircraft.

Piloted by a member of the Pteraxii caste, whose legs and scapuli superior are hardwired into its controls, the nano-carbon fibre-weave of the Archaeopter’s wings is capable of morphing – a property it shares with the Pteraxii flight packs.

This affords great manoeuvrability and enables it to operate within changing pressures as it undertakes explorator duties as well as delivering teams of lethal operatives behind enemy lines or into the heart of battle.

Xiphon Pattern Interceptor

This Xiphon Pattern Interceptor flown by the Ultramarines was on display at Warhammer World.

With unparalleled speed and manoeuvrability, the Xiphon pattern Interceptor saw increasing service in the Legiones Astartes during the dark days of the Horus Heresy.  Based on ancient designs, the void and atmospheric craft carried heavy armaments into battle, allowing it to destroy both air and ground targets with apparent ease. Its pair of twin-linked lascannon and Xiphon rotary missile launcher combined with the Interceptor’s speed and agility to make it a deadly opponent from which the enemies of Mankind could not hide.

This was a Red Scorpions Xiphon Pattern Interceptor.

Skorpius Dunerider

These Adeptus Mechanicus Skorpius Dunerider models were on display at Warhammer World.

The Skorpius Dunerider serves as a Skitarii transport vessel enabling the loyal servants of the Machine God to engage or pursue the enemy with ever greater speed and efficiency. As the Skitarii disembark to bring the fury of the Omnissiah to their enemies, the Dunerider’s twin cognis heavy stubbers offer a high rate of covering fire. Within its open cargo hold, the gunners tasked with firing the vehicle’s flanking pair of cognis heavy stubbers stand at their stations with hands on triggers. A turret-mounted pair of cognis heavy stubbers rises is mounted on a rear cupola, its Servitor gunner protected from return fire by an armoured shield mounted between the barrels.
