Bright Yellow Ork Battlewagon

Bright Yellow Battlewagon from Golden Demon at GamesDay 2009.

Though very bright, I think it works well.

Tau XV25 Stealth Team

Tau XV25 Stealth Team, an entry in the UK 2009 Golden Demon awards.

Equipped with the latest XV25 Stealth Armour these troops are the ‘lone wolves’ of the Tau army, operating independently of other formations.

Veteran Space Marines

A really nicely painted set of Space Marine Veterans.

From the Golden Demon awards at GamesDay 2009.

I do like the bases and the setting, busy but not distracting.

I do have a set of these (well similar), which I am painting, but haven’t got very far with them.

Inquisitor and his retinue

This very nice Witch Hunter and his retinue was an entry in the GamesDay 2009 Golden Demon awards.

I particularly like that the Inquisitor is mounted on a horse, very medieval.

Ork Stormboyz

These Ork Stormboyz were entered into the GamesDay 2009 Golden Demon awards.

Though they do look very nicely painted, the base in my opinion detracts from the miniatures. It’s too big and a little too busy, and the Orks blend too much into the base. Great for camouflage, but less useful for a painting competition where your miniatures do need to stand out more than normal.

Combine that with a busy cabinet and as a result you have some great looking models getting lost in the base and the cabinet.
