Weathered Ork Gunwagon

One of the highlights of GamesDay 2009 for me was the fantastic Ork Shanty Town display that Forge World did. There were many of the new Forge World model and some older one such as this Ork Gunwagon.

This model has been weathered using the new weathering powders. I did get some at GamesDay but have not had the chance to try them out yet. I didn’t buy the whole set I got rust, soot and earth.

Ork Mega Dread

I really like this model, which combined with Killa Kans and Dreadnoughts gives the Orks a variety of walkers that you would expect to find in their forces.

Battlewagon’esqe Ork Abode

One of the highlights of GamesDay 2009 for me was the fantastic Ork Shanty Town display that Forge World did.

The more you looked at the model the more you saw. There was some lovely little touches such as this old Battlewagon that has been converted into some Ork’s little large abode.

For some of the diorama they made wall and roof sections and then cast multiple copies in resin. I hope one day that they do this and sell it. I would buy some, would you?

Imperial Shrine

One of the impressive games this year at GamesDay 2009 was the mega game which comprised a large Imperial city surrounded by a defensive wall.

The model builders had used lots and lots of Imperial Bastions and Shrine of the Aquila as well as Cities of Death sprues.

Taking photographs at GamesDay is always challenging, the number of people, lighting, hands, dice, etc… so some come out well and others don’t…. Advantage of digital for me is that I can take hundreds and use the best of them on the blog and the website.

Street Level

One of the impressive games this year at GamesDay 2009 was the mega game which comprised a large Imperial city surrounded by a defensive wall. This picture was taken at street level, using a longer exposure than I would normally use at GamesDay.

I do quite like the idea of building an Imperial Shrine, I have always liked the Epic version which Forge World made. One day…
