Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor

I have been adding some more symbology and seals to my Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor.

I have been using Forge World’s Inquisitor brass etchings and their resin purity seals.

They are a nice and simple (yet effective) way of adding character to Daemonhunter vehicles.

Forge World Postal Delays

It would seem that Apocalypse is causing big problems for Forge World. Everyone (and a few others) are all purchasing big models for use in Apocalypse games, you know Titans, Shadowswords, Medusas, Squiggoths, etc…

As a result Forge World are having a few problems coping with the demand and therefore there are now delays in getting orders out.

With the recent release of WH40K Apocalypse and the forthcoming Christmas period demand for Forge World models is at an all time high. This has unfortunately led to delays in processing of all orders. Demand for certain models (especially those featured in the Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse rulebook) has been extremely high. Please rest assured we are still committed to despatching orders to all our customers as quickly as possible but significant delays may be unavoidable.

Of course guess who just put in a Forge World order!

Ork Bommerz

This very nicely done Ork Bommer was on display in the Gaming Club Network display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

Ork Bommer

I do like this model and wouldn’t mind getting one, though the amount of time it has taken me to model and paint my Ork Fighter makes me think that if I did get one, it will probably be 2015 before it ever flew over the gaming table!

Also Forge World are going to make 28mm versions of their Heavy Ork Bommerz which they recently produced for aeronautica imperialis and that might be even more fun to make and paint.

Fifteen Dice!

So there I was looking at the Macharius with Vulcan Mega Bolter on the Forgeworld site, when I thought I would have a look at the rules for the Vulcan Mega Bolter (partly as Simon had mentioned that if he was going to get a Macharius he would get the one with the Vulcan Mega Bolter).

Macharius with Vulcan Mega Bolter

Imagine my surprise (and horror) when I looked at the stats.

Strength 6

Okay not so bad, but good enough to glance or penetrate Orky armour.

Range 60″

That’s a long way, basically the length of our average table we use for gaming, so no worries about not hitting anything on the table (unless there is something in the way).

AP 3

Well that means no saving throws for virtually everything I have.

Heavy 15

What!

Heavy 15

Really?

Fifteen dice for each shot.

I am not 100% sure but initially I thought the Vulcan Mega Bolter was twin-linked, but according to the PDF it isn’t.

Not that that makes a huge difference.

Hoping Simon will buy another Dreadnought instead.

Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Repressor

As part of my Daemonhunters army I am using a Repressor as a transport for my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. Overall the model has being coming together really well, though the fit of some of the resin parts did leave a lot to be desired.

After some thought I decided to use some Inquisitor Rhino doors from Forge World to enhance the model.

I am quite pleased with them, they are well sculptured and fit in really well style wise. Unlike some other resin parts from Forge World, these fitted into the door gaps really well.

I wish I had used the front plate instead of the suppplied plastic one, but it would be of little use, as the front plate is hidden by the huge dozer blade, so maybe not such a good idea.

The next stage is to add some more Inquisitorial type paraphernalia to the model. You can see the full workbench feature on my Repressor.

Ork Looted Rhino Gunner

I have started work on an Ork Gunner for my Looted Rhino. I have used a resin Twin Big Shoota from Forge World. A plastic Ork body and an Imperial turret ring.

Ork Looted Rhino Gunner

Here is how it is looking with the gunner. Not sure what I am going to do with the other hatch space.

Ork Looted Rhino Gunner

I am quite pleased with how the model is looking, I still need to do a lot to the paint job, but conversion wise I like the result so far.

Forge World Ork New Stuff

With the release of Codex Orks in January, I wonder if we will see anything new from Forge World.

When the Dark Angels Codex was released we saw a nice new Forge World Dark Angels Dreadnought.

We haven’t see much new stuff for the Orks over the last few years and it will be interesting to see if there will be anything.

It would be nice to see some new Ork vehicles as well as conversion kits for the new Trukk.

I wonder if any heavy Ork artillery will be made, something like a large Pulsa Rokkit.

I gather from talking to Forge World staff at GamesDay that we will see (at some point) a 28mm version of the Aeronautica Imperialis Ork Heavy Bommer which was recently released.

I would like to see a variant Squiggoth (the £75 version not the £200 one) possibly with an armoured turret (akin to the Epic models).

I doubt we will see an Ork Gargant or a Stompa, but you never know.
