Glued all the little pieces together…
I have (following the pictures on the Forgeworld website) glued my Epic Squiggoth together.
It came together relatively easily and it helped having a picture reference especially when it came to sticking the gun platform on.
It is a very well detailed model and full of character.
The original Epic40K BaneBlade model is a really nice model.
Very well detailed and a joy to paint. This model is painted in my Imperial Guard (British Army) colours of green and black.
Now here’s a way of getting lots of Orks on the ground…
I was thinking about the Defence Force and about having some aircraft or ships larger than the ones sold by Forgeworld (and GW) and have thought about for some time a large Ork Heavy Bomber converted from the FW Imperial Maurauders.
I also like the Landa concept from Epic Armageddon though I think the model is somewhat too small (hopefully FW will bring out a “bigger” in scale version).
I also noticed the resemblance between the Landa and the Rebel Transport in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
As I purchased many moons ago the AMT/ERTL Hot Base kit which comes with an approximate 1/200th scale model kit of the Rebel Transport, I got thinking. It would make a great Extra Large Landa (or should that be a Big Landa in Ork speak).
I had thought originally about using the Transport as an Imperial Transport, but the more I look at it the more I keep thinking Ork Landa…

Stormseer from the EpiComms forums has spent quite a few weeks now working on an Adeptus Mechanicus Research Base.
This picture is just one part of this huge creative exercise and shows the satellite dish.
I have been thinking about making an Ork Airfield as a terrain board complete with wrecks, flak emplacements, huts, hangars, towers and other bitz and pieces.
Though my terrain is in the main green, I think I may go for a desert feel as this is more akin to how I feel about the Ork Airfield Defence Force.
Now can I find the time to get this part of the project started!

Epic and 40k scales…
The WH40K version of the FW Valkyrie is a really nice model, well detailed and a very nice piece of kit for the Imperial Guard.
From what I have heard about the Epic version, it is just as sweet, and much larger than the Specialist Games model.
FW Epic models are very detailed compared to their metal counterparts. If I do get some Valkyries it will have to be the FW ones.
One of my favourite models…
The Epic40K Leman Russ is one of my favourite epic scale models, the level of detail and “realism” is superb. I actually prefer this version to the Forgeworld version which is relatively unique as with virtually every other model my preference is for the Forgeworld versions.
This picture was taken with a Canon EOS 300D on a “normal” setting, and as you can see the aperture was too open and thus you get the blurry effect. If I had closed the aperture to get a sharper depth of field then the shutter speed would probably have been around five or ten seconds which would mean use a tripod. My old Sony Cybershot (old it’s only three years old) can probably take a better photograph.
However the Canon is a six mega-pixel camera (compared to the Sony’s three) means better quality images especially for printing and cropping.
